Required to travel to the area on little notice for a funeral, we booked a room (the White Lotus room) at Sutton House - and it was a highlight, the only highlight, of the trip. Rarely have we encountered such accommodating (!!) people and such wonderful...accommodations. From the booking experience to our unavoidably late arrival to the room, the breakfast and everything else, we could not have asked for anything more. The room: spacious, lovely, well appointed with heating, multiple pillows and blankets, light switches and hooks just where you might need them, power outlets for our devices, reliable wi-fi. Just...perfect. The grounds: gorgeous. And...the breakfasts: unbelievable. One day fresh fruit, omelets, bacon, potatoes and toast. The next day, fresh fruit, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon (see photo). Coffee and tea and fresh baked goods always available. And, most impressive of all, knowing that we had to leave before breakfast to catch our flight home, Donna (the cook) left out for us cereal, English muffins, fresh bread, peanut butter, regular butter, pastries, jam, fruit. Just unbelievably thoughtful. We are indebted to Donna and to Thais and Lynn. You made a difficult situation so much easier to experience. And to anyone reading this, do not hesitate to book the Sutton House Bed and Breakfast if you have the opportunity to do so. You will not be sorry.

I stayed here this weekend with my girlfriend and we had an awesome time! To start, Thais is super sweet and accommodating, always making sure our stay was great. Our room was wonderful and the view of the lake/mountains from the 3rd floor was very nice. Breakfast every morning was delicious! Fresh fruit, and Lynn was very considerate to our tastes and made sure we were happy. The location was perfect, we were within 15 minutes of several restaurants, and within 40 of some breweries, more restaurants, the Ice Castles, Gunstock, and the Tanger Shopping Outlets. When we decided to relax, Sutton House was perfect, we could kick back and take a nap, watch some TV, have a coffee, or take a bath in the 2 person tub! It really was an amazing weekend and Sutton House was such an awesome place! From the room to the staff to the house itself, everything was wonderful. Highly recommend it!

If you need a b and b in this town, there are none finer!!! Beautiful house full of antiques! Built around 1865. I won't stay anywhere else when in town! Every one of our group couldn't believe how comfortable the beds were! LOL Sounds silly, but when you're there for a week, important! Wonderful owner, pool and patio with everything you need! Made our stay great!!!

I had a terrible experience here. Do not assume that you will get what you paid for. I booked a room with a nice lake view (after carefully examining each room on the website, I picked one with good views and a nice bathtub). She put me in a different room with no views; no nice bathtub either. ||||I was also not allowed to use the fire place, because "propane is expensive". When I said she advertised the rooms with fireplace, she said it costs her money to pay someone to chance the website. ||||On top of this, I was not allowed to open the windows in my room upon arrival (for ventilation to minimize Covid risk); she said "if you intend to open the windows, you need to leave now" as she was carrying my suitcase to the room. This was after me driving 2 hours from Boston, it was dark already, and I was alone with a 3 year old. Her reason was that she has a hard time heating up the building and keeping the costs down. Shouldn't you factor that in pricing?? It is extremely strange to threaten your guests with kicking them out if they open the window! Also, as for putting me in a different room, her reason was that this room was quieter since it does not face the busy road. I think the real reason was that the room was the smallest so she can keep the heating cost down. ||||This whole thing explains the "service mentality" at this place. ||Other than these, the breakfast was less than mediocre (continental breakfast quality with small servings of two things). ||||This was my worst B&B experience. I am not coming here...

This was my 1st B&B experience and it was wonderful! We spent 5 days at the Sutton House and Thais and her team were fabulous from the beginning. The Yellow Daffodil room was very clean and I appreciated the noise machine in case of outside noises. That was one concern of mine when considering a B&B, but we didn't need the noise machine at all. I appreciated the extra effort of wrapping each glass in plastic and having disposable items as COVID is still present.

Each morning started with a delicious homecooked breakfast which began with a fresh fruit cup, baked good (muffin, bread etc.) and then the main course that varied from spinach quiche to pumpkin pancakes with pure maple syrup. It was all amazing. The 24/7 coffee/tea bar in the main room also had fresh baked cookies for guests. These little touches made it feel like Grandma's house. Then, there is Patty. Not only did she bake most of the delicacies but she was so entertaining and friendly. She made our stay extra special. She even packed us a little "to-go" bag of goodies and fresh coffee to take on our trip back home. Thais, Patty, Sally and Lynn sent us off with a group picture so we could remember our fabulous NH trip and the experience we had at Sutton House. We will be back...
