If this is helpful, lemme know!||Date= July 2023|Name/location=Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, Monaca PA||Room=201 King Executive Room (1 week stay) ||Lazy review|Pros- are good location, newer hotel, updated exercise equipment, breakfast, a couple nice people here |Cons-are no air in exercise room, rude front desk (see below), pool smells, 1 of 2 breakfast girls is MIA and rude to guests (see below)|Improvements- are need better customer service at this location. Bigger fridge. More storage.||Comments= Most (not all) staff is rude, little to no storage space (tiny closet, 2 small drawers, tiniest fridge) Some things were 1 star and some 5… so we’ll go with the 3. ||Staff=C: Hit and miss, see stories below|Housekeeping= Hit and miss again. We asked for housekeeping and was agreed every other day for towels, trash and vacuum. We got it around every 3rd only after complaining but the housekeeper we met was nice. ||Elevator= Only one right behind the front Desk. ||||came with|Fridge= Tiniest fridge I’ve ever seen, no freezer (see pic). |Wi-Fi= POOR- 4.5D/L Mbps 0.4U/L Mbps||Room was ||Cleanliness- |Tv- 2 small TVs (maybe 27 inch)|Bed= Comfortable|Pillows= Variety in firmness|Heating and air= Worked well, needed the constant fan option for the traffic noise. |Shower/bath= Good size, no tub, wall mounted soaps. Shower head is fix, no adjustments on the shower head. |||Well lite= Property is well lite but the room is pretty dark after sunset… Room needs more lights. |Laundry= Yes. Machines takes CC. Costs something dumb like $3.79 each. (Forgot to get that pic) ||Breakfast= Breakfast for the most part is good. Bacon everyday with cling wrapped breads, waffle maker, a fruit (sometimes bananas), juice (cranberry was out the entire week we stayed). ||PROBLEM: One of the girls was very nice and kept things stocked (the skinny one), the other one you hardly ever saw. Items would run out and one morning didn’t see her and went to the front desk and asked if anyone was working the breakfast… she had to go in the back to get her to come out to do her job. ||Interaction I watched (same race and gender as the staff): |Guest: We don’t have any syrup out (occurred often) |Staff: (rudely) I’ll get to it; you are just going to have to wait!|Guest: I don’t mind waiting, I’ve been waiting. I was just letting you know.|(LOL! Good for her! I almost clapped!)|Restaurant= None on site but hotel is very close to several locations. I recommend Bowser’s down the hill (walking distance) for the wings or smoked beef dogs. There is also a pizza place that I’ve never tried down there as well. |Business Center= Yes, by the front door. I didn’t use it. Probably not the best spot for a business center but they do have one. ||View= (see pic) We enjoyed watching the busy intersection. We kept the fan running, so it muffled the traffic noise but if you don’t have it running, you can hear the vehicles with loud exhausts. ||Pool= Yes, but was out of service every time we checked. Probably a good thing as it smelled and looked pretty bad (see pic of the clouded water). Kinda smelled like bad foot odor. At least they were trying to correct this (of many) issue. |Hot tub= none|||Fitness room.= NO AIR, so better get there early, because later in the day the fitness room turns into a sauna. They did get all new equipment during our stay, now maybe fix the air conditioning. 1 towel and no cups in here. ||Location= Good location, albeit a bit complicated to get to it… Location even confused Google as it will NOT take you to the entrance (unless my correction suggested was updated). You have to enter further down from the hotel, at the Re/max realtor (you will see the Fairfield hotel sign here too). Then drive up the neglected parking lot to get to the hotel. |#10.Price was- $114 plus taxes per night with Hotels dot com. ||Parking-free||| Hints- Go to the Re/max realtor 1476 Old Brodhead Rd, Monaca, PA 15061 for your Google maps b/c Google will get you lost. From here, drive up the hill to the hotel. ||Issues= We asked to have 4 towels instead of the 3 because it was us and our 2 kids and no need to have to share towels. After a couple times of still only getting 3, the unfriendly ‘gentleman’ at the front desk said the rule is you get 3 so the rest of the hotel can have towels (really? So, my extra towel is going to short the entire hotel). He said if you want an extra, you will have to come to the front desk and ask for it ‘per the general manager’. ||Summery- I think management needs to change here… any manager who would instruct staff that guests must go to the front desk for a towel everyday obviously does not have a guest services mentality and the staff will always be a reflection of that. I’m going to try to avoid this place on...
Read moreI traveled to Monaca with one of my kids for a state gymnastics championship. Our check in time was to be 3 pm. I traveled over 250 miles for the competition that morning and checked in online so that we could access the room at the 3 pm check-in without delay. I never received a notice that the electronic key was ready so I went to the hotel between 3:30-4 pm to collect my room key and was told by the front desk clerk that the room wasn't ready because there was a "housekeeping issue". I was advised to return in 1 hour and that my room would be ready at that time. I returned 1 hour later and the room was still not ready. There was no manager to speak to and I was informed by the desk clerk that the person who launders the linens for the hotel had called out sick and that no rooms were ready. At this point the lobby was chaos with numerous other families with kids were in the lobby all waiting to access rooms. I was informed that they had no idea when I would be able to get into the room but they thought I might be able to access the room around 10 pm. I was also told that if I wanted to speak to a manager I would need to call on Monday as no managers work on the weekends at this hotel. At this point I left the hotel to return to the competition venue but spent the next hour speaking with 3 different representatives at Marriott Customer service. One offered to put me in a hotel over 10 miles away which was not an option as I had carpooled with another family who was relying on me for rides and our kids were competing at different times. I was informed that Marriott was otherwise unable to help me and that they thought I should be able to get into my room sometime that night. I was not offer any compensation for this very significant inconvenience but was advised that I should call the hotel manager on Monday and she would address this. We were finally able to access the room t 8 pm that evening, 5 hours after the time we were supposed to check-in. I called the hotel the following Monday morning to speak to the manager but she was not yet in. I was informed I could not be transferred to the manager's voicemail as the "phones are broken" and she said she could not to take a written message. I have called twice since and left voicemails and have not received a return call. If one person calling out sick can have such a significant impact on a hotel's ability to do business and with completely unresponsive management, I would not advise...
Read moreMy entire experience with The Fairfield in Monaca was less than satisfactory. My son and his fiance were married on April 13, 2019. I made my reservations in November before anyone else and ended up in a room which was out of service, prior to our stay. It was a rather warm day and we had no air conditioning in our room. I hardly slept. The front desk clerk who was working overnight brought us a fan which was very noisy. At that point, she proceeded to tell us that this particular room was out of service. When we complained the next day there was another girl at the front desk who also said the room was out of service and offered us a treat from the vending area. Really??? We also had problems prior to our stay with the management team at this location. In November I called and spoke to Sarah, a front desk attendant, who at the time led me to believe that I was able to book the meeting room for a small get together after the wedding. I received my confirmation number for my room but not the suite. I started to question whether or not we had the room and when I called to confirm they once again assured me that we did. After the holidays I contacted them again because I still had not received a confirmation number. It was at that point when they informed me that we did not have the room. However, the gentlemen that I spoke to led me to believe that there was a mixup and he would have the general manager call me. Carole, the manager never returned my call. I called her and she was very rude but still led me to believe that she would look into this and get back to me. At this point, it is now March and the wedding will be in April. My future daughter-in-law, Christy, contacted the sales rep, Lauren, who told us we had nothing to worry about and to have me call Carole again. I did and once again she was extremely rude. Christy called her and she was rude to her also. The entire situation was frustrating and we felt as if they lied to us from the beginning in order to get the business. There are other hotels in the area and they were all more than happy to accommodate us. Unfortunately, this went on so long we did not want to move our out of town guests to another hotel. Finally three weeks before the wedding we were told by Lauren that there was no way we were getting the party room. At that point, I booked the restaurant in the same plaza for our group and they were pleased to have our business. I feel as though we were misled throughout the...
