Read moreTBH, their pork fries are amazing and much of the staff was friendly, but that doesn’t save a tip of a review star after what one woman did to our dear friend who had just married her soulmate hours earlier that same day.
Our friend’s wedding brought in many guests from all over to stay several days at the connected Hilton Beaver Valley hotel - eating, drinking, tipping well - including myself and my wife.
Fast forward to our friend’s wedding night, who was inexplicably carded by a female employee at the door of Jackson’s. The bride was glowing in her new white wedding sweater. Being the bride, she of course didn’t have her license with her, but being 37 and newly married should’ve overridden that. Note - My wife is a young looking 37 and she didn’t get carded for the drinks we ordered the night before, so it’s clearly not a strict policy. (Fwiw I wasn’t carded either - as is standard for most adults over 35)
Other gestures and inexcusable hosting behaviors occurred, but the fact that this happened at all to a newlywed is totally absurd! The wedding and missing license was all explained clearly to the hostess by the bride and all her family and friends who were looking forward to spending the night celebrating at Jackson’s (a big part of why they anchored the Hilton as their hotel base for any out of town guests!)
Whoever this woman was that made this foolish ruling to not allow the bride into the restaurant clearly wanted to go home and didn’t care about Jackson’s profitability or happiness of its patrons. Shame on her (or you if you’re reading this!) for your actions!
Luckily this group of family and friends is resourceful and found a way to salvage the night. We could even thank your meanness for the energy boost and maybe it’s ultimately better it worked out like this for the memories your fiasco created, but that doesn’t save you from this 1-star rating!
Congrats again, friends, for getting...
Read moreMy reason for two stars is the poor service we have repeatedly received upon entering. Very disappointed with the hostess’s unprofessionalism.
She appeared shocked when we did not want a high table - did not make any kind effort or explanation for not allowing us to sit in the empty dining area with seating we wanted after inquiring further; other than we would be inconveniencing those who reserved space... Who were they?? We were seated at a high top anyway despite an almost COMPLETELY EMPTY dining area (even when we left, it was nearly empty).
Funny! When looking online for reservations (supposedly none left), there were plenty of spots available for our party size. Fair, right?
Feeling disrespected and like an inconvenience; literally she threw up her hands exclaiming she did not know how to remedy our request and as if we were inconveniences her job.
It’s first impressions that impact your overall experience. Bad taste in my mouth - silly pun! On the other hand, our waitress was rather nice and did her job well. Well-spoken and attentive. I wish she would have asked about how our steaks were tho. Mine was nearly well done instead of medium rare. Too far into the meal to have the kitchen make one new though.
The good stuff: Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and the flavors of the French onion steak!! Delicious!!
It would be lovely to improve the customer service. I sincerely want to come back without the drama of the...
