While my experience was unfortunate I am sure this was a rare occurrence. Upon checking in my room felt damp, the towels were wet, and the bed felt moist. I figured it was because I myself was sweating. Therefore, I called the front desk reported that the towels were wet and room service brought up new ones right away. I showered and my husband and I went downstairs to the lobby so that he could have a few drinks before our scheduled event. Five hours later we returned to the room and the floor, bed, towels, chairs, and everything on top of the suitcase were wet. The thermostat was set to 70 but the room was not cool at all. Water (moisture) was entering the room at an unexpected rate so much so, the walls were dripping with water. I called the front desk and the manager on duty sent the engineer to investigate the source of the problem. The engineer offered several solutions but non that would fix the problem immediately. He suggested running a dehumidifier. This was unlikely to work because of the amount of moisture in the room. The engineer then reported his findings to the manager on duty. Another room was available but a similar problem existed (strange but true, the engineer on duty accompanied me to the room and was able to come to the same conclusion). This time both the engineer and I returned to the lobby to speak with the manager on duty. Yet, one additional room was available (the hotel was booked to capacity) in addition to the moisture found in the third room on the bed,m floor, and towels, (once again leaving everything damp) there was a strop smoke order. As a result, I instructed my husband to pack up our things so that we could return home. I proceeded to the managers desk where one more room (the final room available) was offered. I politely declined. By this time my frustration was high, I was very tired as I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep the night before and was simply ready to get a comfortable nights sleep without all the inconvenience. The staff, engineer, and manager on duty, were all very polite and apologetic for the unfortunate events but could not offer a suitable accommodation. As a result, I drove home to get a good nights rest. As a "Military Dependent" twenty-three years of my life, I know that this truly was a once in a lifetime event. I have spent plenty of nights with the Marriott. This is my first "bad...
Read moreI’m giving 1stars only because my room was clean and the lobby was nice but my friend and I just stayed here and this hotel should not be called Marriott. We were checking in I immediately notice the front desk staff. They all look as if they were right out of bed. Literally. The girls shirt was out faded and wrinkled. Her hair was a mess as if it hadnt been done in weeks.A young guy passed by smelled of marijuana. I then see that he’s the Shuttle Driver! That was the first impression. The next morning the food in the restaurant was over priced $20 especially for the breakfast buffet that was horrible. The bacon looked like rubber and the pancakes turned brown from the time I walked to my seat and back. The dinner menu I ordered steak baked potatoes and asparagus that took over 30 minutes to come out. There was one waitress with no help. The short chunky lady they called Maria was Im guessing a manager did not move to help when asked and had a crabby snobby attitude that made her face even more scary. She just stood at the entrance talking and being all up close and touchy feely with another guy with a high pitch accent who also looked like a manager while we just sat waiting on our food. The bartender was busy trying to do everything! When we did get our order the presentation was a 0 out of 10 and my asparagus was tasteless. And word of advice to the restaurant Get rid of the dining room fragrance. It’s terrible overbearing and No pleasant. It’s a restaurant and I couldn’t even smell my food. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. We were both over it. It was not a good experience. When we were leaving the hotel the gate wouldn’t even work , not to mention the outrageous parking fee and then had to drive around and leave out of the opposite side. Who is running this hotel? Is it under new management or ownership? We stayed here a couple years ago and it hasn’t gotten better. Then it was bad breakfast service now the staff and service has really gone down hill. Definitely missing the mark. If you’re looking for overall Marriott feel and good quality overall service think twice book...
Read moreFor a Marriott property, representing that whole umbrella of Marriott hotel chains, this was by far the worst I have stayed in. It started with staff who seemed to be inconvinienced by our presence. From the convention center staff, 1 of which was a total nightmare to even be around. She was rude to my young boy and she just had this bratty attitude around our event we were there for. We also had an uncomfortable night at lounge, where we felt targeted due to having our room guests in the lounge. It was never mentioned at check in or anywhere that the lounge is limited to 2 people, children included. We had no issues at the daily breakfasts during our check in. I dont know why we would be alowed to book a double queen room for 4 people, but only 2 people are allowed in the lounge. This seems completely out of order for a business such as this, and what made it worse is the fact that it seemed targeted.
The targeting made my wife uncomfortable and she ended up leaving the lounge soon after the targeting began. I also noticed that not everyone seemed to face scrutiny like we did, which is quite odd. There are people who piggyback onto others who should not have been there, and yet they were left alone. Even staff were in the lounge enjoying the amenities, not being questioned about their room status, and hooting and hollering during the game. My elite status with the brand and what should have been quality time with my family was drowned out, while the same staff that treated us poorly got to reap the rewards of my spending unapposed.
This is the first Marriott property that we have had this much trouble with a lounge, and I haven't had any issues at any of the Hilton properties I visit in all my travels. Makes me question if I want to continue giving Marriott any of my business at all. The remainder of the stay was normal, but if this is what we run into staying at this property for just 2 days, I would hate to see what a longer stay would be like.
All in all, a disappointment in my book for Marriott and surely a hotel we will not be going out of our...
