Previously I rated this place 5 stars but my second visit was completely disappointing. Specifically asked the waitress to suggest something spicy and they suggested something sweet. The meaning of spicy doesn’t mean to just add boat loads of chillies, my friends here at the restaurant has completely lost the authenticity of Indian food. They brought in the paneer tikka masala which was completely sweet and bland, we also didn’t liked the mo mos that we had ordered and they still charged half the price of the dish that was sent back. Very disgusting customer service and completely unacceptable. Never returning back to this place in my whole life again. The staff here completely not interested in giving good customer service. The waitress needs to learn some manners too, she mistreated the customer and called us “crazy”. The Americans can be easily fooled by the bland and boring taste but atleast not me, I grew up in India and I have traveled the whole country tasting different food and I exactly know how a food from a particular region tastes like. Later on while leaving the restaurant, they called the police on us because I took a picture of the waitress who was behaving badly with us, she pushed my girlfriend and tried to snatch her phone because she took...
Read moreIt pains me to say that Himalayan Spice's move to a takeout venue due to being unable to continue their popular buffet because of COVID-19 has adversely affected the quality of their food.
I just finished a shrimp dish they served that had more in common with a poorly prepared and watery paella than an Indian curry. An earlier order of chicken Korma came without it's promised cashews. I don't know which idea is more depressing: that they aren't keeping their pantry stocked with what they need to complete a dish or that they are simply forgetting to add ingredients.
A hopeful sign is that they have not removed the sign from there previous location and may be planning to return there when able.
I look forward to trying them again if that happens.

I don't think I've ever really appreciated how much Nepal owes to both India and China for their cuisine.
Try the kothe mo:mo if you want to understand what I mean.
Try the chili mo:mo if you like hot food and don't mind regretting your order the following morning.
I love this place like I love my mother.
Ignore the buffet; order off the menu.

Read moreDelicious, authentic Nepalese/North Indian cuisine. Of all the South Asian restaurants in my area, this restaurant is my favorite. I love their Chicken Tikka Masala (which comes with basmati rice) and garlic cilantro naan. But what makes this restaurant particularly special is their Nepalese Momos (available in Chicken or Veg) which are unique to Nepal. Momos somewhat like Japanese gyoza/pot stickers but the filling is made with the classic spices you expect from Indian food and served with a tomato based chutney with just the right amount of spiciness. Himalayan Spice's momos taste just like the ones you'd find in tea houses in the Nepalese countryside. The samosas here are also fantastic and service has always been great. This restaurant recently downsized from a sit-down restaurant to a mostly takeout location with a few seats inside and a few patio tables outside, and it seems this has helped them keep prices down. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I'd love to see them continue to do well, I...
