I really enjoy Ethiopian food and I'm always looking for new spots around the city. I have a few other go-to spots and I'm adding Feedel to that list because they have a few things on their menu that really sets them apart for other Ethiopian restaurants. First, the spread and variety of foods they prepared for the event I attended were amazing and really gave us a chance to try the dishes that set them apart from the rest. Second, everything on the menu was really good and while there were things that just were not "my" preference in general, the way they are prepared here I would absolutely try them again. As I've said, everything was amazing and delicious but my absolute favorites and what I'll be returning to have are: Feedel hummus, fu'ul, tofu fettuccine, and sagla's spris salmon. These are the dishes that really set them apart and dishes I have never seen at other Ethiopian restaurants. The hummus was a nice surprise since I associated it with Middle Eastern cuisine, but the hummus here made me completely forget that. The fu'ul was another surprise for me, as I don't eat fava beans often so I had no expectations but I was blown away by the fu'ul, it might be by favorite of the favorite's. People often try to do bean chili in place of a meat based chili and it rarely works out well, this is the opposite of that. The fu'ul tastes exactly like chili, a very well done vegetarian chili. I've never seen salmon on an Ethiopian menu, so again I wasn't sure what to expect with the Sagla's spirs salmon. Maybe other meat based Ethiopian dishes since the ingredients are the same. It was delicious. And finally the tofu fettuccine which we had at the end of the meal. Another dish I've never had and was pleasantly surprised by. It was light, delicious, and a perfect end to an already amazing meal. I lean more on the pescatarian side, but the dishes are prepared so well here that you don't even realize that most of the dishes were vegan or vegetarian. Over all amazing experience and I can't wait to go back.

We came on a Friday night for a good vibe, drinks, and appetizers. The music and decor were very nice. There was nothing else to brag about though. I ordered a Grapefruit Margarita with a mango popsicle (additional $4) and an order of Brussel Sprouts. I was told that they would be "browned". The drink came out with an ice cream bar (milky) inside of it which was quite off-putting. The server said that it was because the popsicles were Mexican, which is not mentioned on the menu or when ordering. Next, the brussell sprouts were completely burnt all the way through. The burnt taste was on my throat so badly that I was actually able to finish the ice cream bar to get rid of the taste. I told the server and she stated that she was trying to describe it as such. She was kind enough to exchange it for another dish, because on the menu it states that customers must ask questions before ordering as the kitchen would not be taking plates back. I opted for the Awaze wings, which did not have any flavor and were also scorched. I paid $55 for a drink with a popsicle, a shot, a 6 piece wing, and fries. The food was not enjoyable. The drink may have been if I hadn't ordered the milky popsicle. The ambiance was great though. I'd recommend this spot if you are looking for hookah and drinks.

This was only my second time eating Ethiopian food, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. A friend highly recommended we dine at Feedel during my stay in the Atlanta area -she said it was favorite of hers. Since it was all new to me, she and I shared the meat sampler which came with a few sides. The meat selections were served on a large round of a type of sourdough bread. It was all delicious. The beef tartare and lamb with rosemary and butter sauce were my favorites. The bread is used as a sort of serving utensil, which was interesting! The sampler was plenty for two with leftovers. Highly recommend that if you are new to the cuisine. The desserts are more typical European...creme brulee, tiramisu etc.. we tried the fruit cheesecake and hazelnut torte and loved them both. The restaurant is very elegant in a minimalist way...and the owner so gracious, more then willing to explain any dish to me, and clearly passionate about her food.

Another long review warning... ‍

First impression: I first stopped by Feedel Bistro on their opening night with some friends and everything we had from the lamb tibs and kitfo to the vegetarian sampler was amazingly good.

I'm no stranger to Ethiopian food and have frequented neighboring restaurant Desta and others for YEARS. This review is about my most recent visit from Friday evening.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere in Feedel is nice. It's intimate-chic and very artsy. I was solo this time but it's perfect for a date night.

Service: The servers are attentive. Each time, I was greeted by someone at the door and I was checked on frequently throughout my meal.

Food: So when I usually eat "Habesha" food, I eat MEAT. Tibs and kitfo. This time however fell in the middle of my "meatless 30 days" leading up to my birthday, so it was going to have to be a vegetarian friendly dish.

I asked for a recommendation and ordered the recommended selsi fit fit(sp). I had the lamb lega tibs last time and the server mentioned that the selsi dish was Injera, tomatos, peppers and onions cooked in the same type of sauce as the lamb tibs I previously had. It was great! When I think of Vegetarian options in Ethiopian food I usually think of the standard "veggie combo", but this dish has been added to my go-to list for veg dishes.

Drinks: I just had water this time since my 30 meatless days includes 30 Sweet-less days(no sugar‍) so I passed on the obligatory cocktail. Last time I had the Amicha margarita which was rimmed with berebere chilli powder and sugar. I was told that you had to lick the rim before sipping to get the full experience. Doing so gives you this perfectly spicy sweetness before tasting the slightly sour margarita. It actually worked well together!

Over-all: I would highly recommend Feedel to anyone looking for a great Ethiopian spot in Atlanta. The service on both visits was on point. I sat at the bar since I was alone this time and the bartender, Johnathan, while tending the bar and handling an outside table (oh yea they have a nice outdoor patio area) managed to keep my water full. #TheLittleThings . The food is great and definitely tastes like someone's grandmother is in the kitchen cooking everything....

Feedel Bistro is a culinary winner!! I have had Ethiopian food before, but nothing compares to the fresh, flavorful, and beautiful food at Feedel! There is no question this restaurant will become a local favorite and I am glad to have discovered it at their Grand Opening!

My prior experiences with Ethiopian cuisine were relatively lackluster - mushy, not particularly flavorful, and uninteresting. Feedel changed all that for me and, although the restaurant just opened on Sunday, I have been twice this week already. I anticipate it being a regular stop on my family's local restaurant circuit.

As much as I enjoyed my meal, my children enjoyed it even more - the level of spice was just right and, as my 17 year old son said, the "flavors unfolded throughout the meal." My family looks forward to returning!

The atmosphere is worthy of the food - beautiful, tasteful, expertly decorated, and welcoming. The lush plants on the patio in front of the restaurant further added to the anticipation of a good experience and we were not disappointed.

The waitstaff is attentive, intentional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The bartender was delightful and made our second meal at Feedel this week a lot of fun. In my experience, the staff of a restaurant is every bit as important as the food - great food and great decor can be further improved by excellent staff and the level of skill and restaurant-specific training the staff has received shows. Well done!

Last, everything we had was delicious - the vegetarian selections were fresh and flavorful. The entree I ordered, Momma's Special Gome was my absolute favorite of all I tasted. The greens were tasty enough to stand on their own, but the addition of the tender lamb made the dish one I will definitely order again! The Savignon blanc (Mondavi, I believe) was a crisp accent to a really lovely meal.

Hands down, our two visits to Feedel this week were incredibly enjoyable and I cannot recommend it...
