When we arrived Saturday afternoon, I was happy with the location tucked back in a quiet neighborhood and the the building and property looked nice and there was a free breakfast! it all went downhill from there. First a fairly slow check in and not a very warm greeting from the manager after standinding in line to check in, they were complaining of slow computers, no big deal. Got to the room and it was very nice but the thermostat was set at 60 and all we were wearing was light shorts and t-shirts so we ended up turning off the ac and turning on the heat on a warm August day to get the room comfortable, an easy but not immediate fix. Then we went to get the laundry bag from the closet but it wasn't there, had to go to the front desk, again no big deal. Then realized there was a dirty washcloth hanging from the shower curtain rod, starting to get a little concerned at this point. We went out for dinner and when we came back, notice that door 3 near our room was not secured and anyone from the the street could walk in this side door without a key. We went to the front desk again and was told that staff can double scan their key to leave the door unlocked so they can get back in without having to use their key. This makes no sense because you don't need the key to get out so staff would have to pull their key out when exiting and scan it twice just so they don't have to scan it once when the come back in. Why not just scan once when you come in? That would be easier and more secure. If there is actually a feature to unsecure the doors it should be disabled. Anyway, later that evening it was secure again but I had to go to the car for something at 2 AM and was able to get back in that door without a key, again, in the middle of the night and no one around!
Fortunately, I requested a ground floor room because none of the elevators worked. There is also a definite problem with sound isolation because we were getting lots of noise from all directions and were constantly getting awakened until 3 am. We could hear children's voices from the room next door, conversations in the hallway and Heavy loud foot traffic above us. I can't imagine what was possibly going on up there because not only was it very heavy footsteps but they were slow and constant ... FOR HOURS! It sounded like a very large (and very strong) man was Unloading a truck full of gold bars from the hall and stacking them near the window back and forth across the ceiling all night!.
I also found the $75 dog fee excessive as it did not cost them one cent more for the dog to sleep there. He did not make any messes they would have to clean up, 100% of the cleaning up was for the humans towels, bed, Kitchen, bath, carpet etc that would have been done whether our little dog was there or not and he did not bother anybody, so that is just a $75 windfall for them, 100% pure profit! It kind of feels like they just reached in my pocket and stole $75 out of my wallet.
On the plus side the breakfast was excellent the next morning and we were glad have a good breakfast and get out of there and the rest of our...

This is a fairly large hotel, well situated in the main centre of Corning and easily accessible to highways and local attractions, especially the Corning Museum of Glass, which is within walking distance.
We had a studio suite, since it was just my husband and myself and it was spacious, with a mini kitchen, (dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, etc.) a TV on a swivel base and two windows looking out towards the parking lot. Our room was clean and the furnishings good. As long as the room is clean, we’re pretty happy!
However, having said that, our room did not get cleaned one day of our stay, despite the fact that we were out from 9 a.m. to almost 6 p.m. that day. When we contacted the front desk, the employee apologized and asked if we had garbage to take out. (No, but the bed is totally unmade and we're in need of a couple of towels and facecloths). I told her at that point, since we were leaving the next day that it wasn't worth taking the garbage out - not that we even had any. So, the room was never made up after the first night stay.
We stayed here in early April, so the grounds were not spectacular, but I would imagine they would be in the summer and fall months. The staff are friendly, especially Graceanne in the spacious morning breakfast dining room. She greets you each morning and is always there for assistance. A genuinely lovely lady who ought to be recognized for her efforts, as we’ve stayed in many IHG hotels over the years and she is, by far, the most friendly and helpful.
The free breakfast included with many IHG hotels was good. Cereals, yogurts, fruits, bagels, oatmeal, dried fruits, nuts, breads, muffins, eggs, bacon, waffles, juices, coffees, and more, which I’ve probably missed.
The staff at the front desk are also friendly and helpful (despite the issue about the unmade-up room) and we bought discounted Museum tickets from the hotel. There is fresh lemon water available for guests in the lobby, which was a welcome sight after hours on the road. Near the front desk is The Pantry, which stocks snacks, drinks, microwaveable items, and other sundries.
The hotel is very clean, well appointed, with a large fireplace in the dining area and a mounted TV for guests. The furniture in the dining area is also well-kept, tasteful, and modern, as are the carpeting and...

They likely want us to give them a high rating for that. So here I am. The suite we got upgraded to was basically a standard 2 bedroom hotel room. Had 2 bathrooms as well as a living area and tiny kitchenette. The small kitchen didn't matter to us as we didn't pack any of our own food. The room came with complimentary tissues, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. The beds were comfortable and well-made. They had a tv in the living area and in the 2 bedrooms. They were pretty thick early 2010-era LG's without any smart capabilities, so there were no streaming services or on-demand cable. If that's what you were hoping for, you will be disappointed. The TV's only had live TV with more ads than shows. It wasn't horrible. Just don't expect a good television experience. However, they made up for it with an indoor pool and hot tub. The indoor pool was heated, though not very generously, so the water wasn't freezing nor particularly warm. The indoor pool reaches a maximum depth of 5 feet. The hot tub had a depth of 3 feet, and it was generously heated like it is supposed to be. Outside, they had a courtyard with a basketball court and an artificial campfire. Finally, they had breakfast included in the price in the main lobby area. We came down there the next morning. They had a decent amount of options, though there were a lot of people that day, and several of the breakfast options ran out, such as the bacon. They also had scrambled eggs that had a strong hint of potatoes to them. They also had waffles, though you have to make them yourself with the included waffle maker and batter. They only had 2 of them, so you would have to wait your turn if someone else was using it. Once the waffles were finished, they had maple syrup you could pour on them, though they didn't have any other condiments such as blueberry syrup, jam, butter, or anything else. The waffles tasted alright though somewhat bland. Overall, my experience with this hotel was nice though nothing...
