It is so fun to go check out our fellow historic museums. The Heritage Festival takes place annually at the Heritage Village of the Southern Finger Lakes in Corning, New York. They have all sorts of activities for the whole family and the event sees hundreds of visitors each year.

So I am a total history nut, this place BLEW ME AWAY. I was raised in New England in CT which is rife with history, I used to think Mystic Village was awesome... Nah this place... Wow they moved all these houses that are breathtaking to this little authentic village, you get to see them in the middle of creating items to the time, like the iron Smith, there was a lady on a loom, farm animals we were there for close to 6 hours and still didn't experience everything! And the gardens... My goodness...the people were all super friendly and they were sooo patient and informative! Absolutely not a wasted trip!

The staff was incredible! They are closed on Fridays these days, with only the office staff on property. One of the folks still went out and unlocked some buildings for us, even though they were closed! It was a fantastic experience.

What an amazing place! So much history and interesting stories as told by the docents and volunteers. In all honesty, I had driven by and never quite known what it was. But I am so glad it caught my eye on the day it did and I ventured in. It's definitely a very worthwhile stop in the town of Corning along the likes of the Corning museum and the...

This is a wonderful (going back in time) community with a school house, buildings that share the works of art, crafts, and quilts galore. Be sure to take your children, 8 - 15. Heritage and Community need to be shared with our children - in appreciation of how hard their families before them worked. You'll love it. Flora...
