UPDATE Day 2: Well we woke up this morning and we were attempting to make the bed. To our disgust we found BED BUGS. We captured 2 live ones in a cup and we sealed them in a plastic bag to bring down to the front desk. Blake was still at the front desk. He didn’t seem surprised at all when I showed him the bugs. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was not in. I said then he better call her. Reluctantly he did. The manager did not want to speak to me. She just told him to give us our money back. I did warn the guests in the area to check their beds carefully so as not to take them home. When I warned the other guests he told me to leave the property or he would call the police. No customer service what so ever. No apology. This is a good example of what cutting back on house keeping will do. Had the room been cleaned properly before we checked in, they would have caught this!!! Any guest staying there, please beware. I am going to attempt to update this review with the actual pictures taken this morning. I am sick to my stomach. In addition the inside of the drawer was filthy never cleaned (we never used it thank god) we only opened it in the morning. And the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain. And we were supposed to live with that for our 3 night stay (which by the way BW has a multi night promotion at the moment). We are comfortable settled now in a very clean hotel down the road!!
Original Review - Day 1. I am a diamond member who has exclusively stayed at the Best Western Summit Inn for more than 10 years. Prior to this visit we have always received a warm welcome a lot of the time even remembered at reception. We couldn’t wait to return to our favourite place once the Covid restrictions lifted. Our first visit was late April early May. We stayed for 3 nights. There is a sign that says no house keeping however when we enquired about fresh towels we were told that as long as we don’t mind a house keeper entering our room they would come in with fresh towels and make the bed. We agreed and our 3 day stay was good. We are back now for an additional 3 day stay (Sunday to Wednesday) so off peak days same as before. We are paying just short of $400 US for this visit. When I asked for the same service again it was refused as they were only doing it for construction workers. I told both Blake and Kali at reception that I am a longtime customer and a diamond reward member. Kali wanted to help us an allow the bed to be made and the delivery of fresh towels each day. She told Blake we were here for 3 nights. I asked how he would feel sleeping in an unmade bed for 3 days. He says he does this every night. Of course we could make our bed but we are paying $300+ US for the privilege of doing so. This also includes no garbage pick up, no surface cleaning and nothing to clean with. I asked to speak to the manager and was told none were available. Kali wanted to call someone but Blake wouldn’t let her do that. I can tell you Best Western just lost this diamond member. So beware should you choose to stay here !! I guess the moral of the story is I should have booked 3 separate nights. I would then be assured of a clean room each night. Foolishly I booked a...
Read moreI stayed 5 days so that I could tour Niagara Falls. I was impressed with the price (roughly $80 a night and that includes the 2 types of taxes!). I was very pleased with the location (1.8 miles from EFX exchange to convert US$ to Canadian$, 7.2 miles to Niagara Falls State Park, 7.6 miles to the free interactive Niagara Power Vista, 20.1 miles to Buffalo airport (BUF), 1.4 miles to Sams Club, 10.9 miles to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1.6 miles to the Walmart Supercenter, and 7.2 miles to the historic St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church.|Food and drink choices for the complimentary breakfast were outstanding---water, coffee, OJ, apple juice, milk and even sweet tea!!! Breakfast every day (including Easter Sunday) was from 7-10 am. Each day was potatoes, scrambled eggs, waffles, fresh fruit (bananas & apples), chocolate chip muffins, assorted flavors of yogurt, toast, dry cereals, and toppings. The waffles are super thick and they are embossed with the letters "BW" for "Best Western."|While there, I enjoyed the use of the fitness center (has a clock on the wall) and THREE recumbent bicycles, 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and assorted weight equipment. I only used the bicycle that had foot pedal straps; the other 2 bicycles were missing foot straps.|The parking lot is HUGE as well as the breakfast eating room. There are electrical outlets all along the walls of the breakfast room, so you can charge your phone while eating. There were 4 double booths, over 50 chairs, and umpteen tables to choose where to sit for breakfast.|While it appears they don't clean your room for a 5 day stay, they will replace your towels/washcloths and empty your trash containers from your room at your request. I found this odd.|While the room did have a refrigerator to hold the items I'd bought at the local Walmart, they did not provide a microwave. There is a microwave in the breakfast room for community use.|There are 2 computers and a printer with paper in it in the business office room that you can use. I did have a few times in which the bandwidth must have been maxed out in using their WiFi, but in general, I was able to use it every time I needed it, just slow a few times.|There was no lighted digital clock in the guest room, so you have to figure out what time it is by your own device (cell phone or watch).|The TV channels were quite a few. Channel 99 provides all the selections to choose from. There is no paper copy of the listing of channels.|No Gideon Bible in the room. |The bathroom exhaust fan was very noisy. I don't know if that is the case for all rooms.|The room has lots of electrical outlets (both regular and USB types).|The wall at the back of the bathtub has the convenient 3 squeeze bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Bar soap is provided for use at the sink.|For the price of this stay, the location of the motel and breakfast provisions made it...
Read moreWe stayed 5/2-5/5 as a family of five in town to celebrate birthdays and visit the falls. It was excellent! My family said one of the beat vacations we have had. The hotel was easy to find on a popular roadway in town. It was close to plenty of stores and restaurants. The exterior was newly from recent renovated. They allowed us to do early check in and it was seamless. We were starving and although we arrived as breakfast was being cleaned up, the staff allowed Us to eat. The eating area was huge and updated with flat screen tv’s and modern decor. Some of the guests even hosted gatherings there in the evening, it was so spacious. This served as a staple for us daily for breakfast, which was always delicious, and warming up dinner leftovers or grabbing a drink and snack. It was an excellent perk to have access to cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, water, plates, utensils and condiments all day. In route to our room, we took note that the modern decor continued and everything was spotless. From the business center, to the arcade, to the huge guest bathroom, to the gym and fresh water (no overpowering chlorine) pool, it was spotless. Forgot to mention, I’m a germ-a-phobe! Our room was the two room family suite with king and 2 Queens. It too was renovated and spotless daily. Fridge, coffee maker, couch. No microwave but used one downstairs no problem. Recommendations - updated gym equipment, more of a closet area in room & consider guest bands. Think saw outsider...
