I never write reviews. But I do not want anyone else to have the experience that I did the day before my wedding. When I ordered my cake originally back in may, the order was lost by the time I came to check in mid June for my wedding in late July. I figured stuff happens and we can just re order it. There happened to be the exact cake I wanted sitting in their fridge so when I was ordering… again, I had the girl come around to the fridge and showed her the cake and told her that is how I would like my cake decorated with gold detailing and naked. She asked if I wanted gold or silver and I said gold just like the one in the fridge. I watched her write it down, then we paid for the cake since prior they had told us to wait till closer to the wedding when we attempted to pay. When I walked in to pick up my cake it was VERY bad, it was nothing like I had asked for and had not a bit of gold on the cake. When I pointed this out and asked for it fixed I was given attitude and told I was a liar and I never asked for any gold to be on the cake even though I had three people with me when I ordered the cake for the second time, since the first order vanished. I asked for the manger for the first time in my life and the girl went in the back where I could hear them very clearly talking about how I’m a liar and just trying to get the cake decorated for free due to me not being able to afford it. However I could afford it or I would have made the cake myself. Then after they continued to talk badly about me where I could hear them clearly one of them said “she’s right at the counter and can probably hear us” after at least half an hour to 45 minutes of me standing here while they all sat in the back someone came up with more attitude and I offered to pay more money for them to fix it. I ended up just telling them to give me my cake since I had paid a month prior and I was so shocked by the awful service I was given. I have never had such awful service in my life and it honestly ruined my rehearsal dinner and the morning of my wedding since the cake was so bad I had to have a friend make a brand new cake which was stunning and so much more well made than the cake that I received from 509. Then I found out that my friend who got married in June had a similar experience with them and that they had canceled her entire wedding cake and cupcakes the week before her wedding without telling her. I’m hearing more and more horror stories about this shop the more I listen and I do not want anyone else...
Read moreWent to my nephews bday party only to find that the cake was over priced and not what my sister asked for. When she called to let them know she got told “sorry you didn’t like it”. Worst customer service in my eyes. His little heart was broken. It looked like a Christmas cake not a stranger things cake. I used to decorate cakes and I know a bit about them and customer service. The cake completely collapsed after about an hour even with stabilization sticks. If I could post pictures I would. My family and friends will not do business there ever again with service like that. Their own site clearly stated it’s $2 a serving so at the price they charged my sister, she should have gotten 34.5 slices of cake. From an 8” round cake. I guess their slices are slivers. Their customer service states- deeply committed to making you feel at home. More like commitment to robbing your pocketbook and not giving you what you asked for. They also stated - small town feel with service you won’t forget. Ya we won’t ever forget...
Read moreI was sooooooo excited when I walked in! Their baked goods look out of this world. Unfortunately why I’m leaving this review is as a small business owner myself I know the importance of relationships. I stood in the front of the shop to be greeted and I fully understand things can be busy etc. However, 3 employees made eye contact with me and said NOTHING. Not even “hello, we’ll be with you in a few”. They just kept working in the back. I waited a bit longer and made eye contact with two of them 2 more times before I said out loud “ok, I’m out”. Again I’m super patient but courtesy goes a long way. Had I been greeted, I would’ve waited 30 minutes to be helped. It’s just not ok to see a customer and blatantly ignore them. I was in the shop for about 5 minutes. Not long but still - you see a customer just let them know you’ll get to them...
