
Property and locations is premium. Lots of scenic spots to enjoy a walk or a sit with loved ones. Rooms are great along with the facilities.
The food for us was unfortunately the weak link here. Very high prices are fine, as long as the food quality brings the value. Also, I love to tip 15-20% for par - excellent service. Every restaurant on the grounds charges a mandatory 20% gratuity and then has a separate discretionary tip section on top. When I inquired, 20% is apparently split amongst all hotel staff and something like 70% of the discretionary goes to the server.
Seems like the hotel could be more clear about this. If 20% is mandatory, adjust your prices to reflect reality and customers can tip servers. Or explain your...
Read moreOur annual trip to my favorite hotel is this weekend, the Broadmoor. Our room this time is in the East wing but I love the West wing. It’s much quieter and has better views. The entire hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful. I love the history of Spencer and Julie Penrose and their dream of this hotel. The staff is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is so much to do here. Shops, restaurants, pool & spa, movie theater, bowling alley, artwork and historical items to see. There’s a free art/history walking tour offered. The Penrose museum is across the street and is free and fun to walk through. I enjoy walking around the lake everyday and watching the wildlife. I love everything...
