Stayed 6 Nights in this room. I would have rated this "Poor" but I understand that "things" can happen out of the hotels control. Like employees calling in sick. It all started on the 1st day of arrival. I go upstairs to a 2 bed queen (Requested King). Called Staff and hotel was full so no other room available. It appeared that they just finished cleaning the carpet as that was the "Smell" that lingered and the carpet was still slightly wet. So I shrug it off and move on. Then after a 12 hour work day I return to my room and housekeeping had not cleaned my room. I called the front desk to make sure that the hotel policy was to clean rooms daily. It was and she was nice enough to ask if I needed anything and brought up coffee as I requested. She said she would inform the manager. Now Day 3, still did not clean my room, By this time i needed towels and soap replaced. Once again, called downstairs, requested the items and about 2 hours later... still no towels or soap. Since I have to wake so early I just gave up. Day 4 yet again no service. I did notice someone knocking on the doors further down the hall and stating "housekeeping". But this was at 7PM at night! I will not recommend or stay at this hotel by choice again. I only stayed there because this was a business trip and the corporation uses this hotel chain. When in this area again, I will return to my Indigo across the interstate, or the residence Inn further down the street, that I think are the best in this area.
Pros: FREE Continental Breakfast FREE WIFI Internet (Week Signal and lows speeds) Cookies & the Market near the front desk area
Cons: Housekeeping! (Can't believe...
Read moreBooked this place for my parents who visited me from Asia and who are in their 60s. The hotel advertised that breakfast was available. During check-in, the front desk confirmed that breakfast hours were from 6:00 to 10:00 am, but clarified it was not a free buffet, rather a paid-to-order service by Starbucks. The next morning at 7:00am, my parents - who are Marriott members - went to the lobby, the front desk clerk informed them that the restaurant employee was absent, and breakfast was unavailable. Consequently, they were directed to find a restaurant outside. My parents, who have diabetes, nearly faced a serious health issue hadn’t they luckily found something to eat in time. When I later called the hotel manager to discuss the incident, I was told that there were pastries the front desk clerk was supposed to sell, but the clerk had lied about her responsibilities and sent my parents out on street to find their own food. The manager later claimed it was a miscommunication. As Marriott members, my parents never expected to be treated this way.
Later the manager agreed that they should issue a full refund, and printed out a proof of refund receipt which is attached here. And they claimed to have called my agency for a refund. However, weeks later, I still haven’t received any refund, and when I showed their receipt, they were surprised and asked “refund just because no breakfast?”
There arrogance and dishonesty really have put the Marriott name to shame and treated valued membership holders horribly. I would recommend everyone to...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Tipton Lakes and found it to be typical of a Courtyard hotel, with a small fridge and microwave in the room. However, I was disappointed to find that breakfast was not included at this location, which seems to be a general trend for this line of Marriott hotels. The hotel also felt understaffed, as I had to repeatedly bother the one person at the front desk for simple things like hot water and towels. Although they did their job, it seemed overwhelming for one person to handle all the requests. Basic items like salt, pepper, hot water, and utensils were not always available, and I had to ask the front desk for them. Additionally, the dryer in the laundry room was broken and some of the general areas seemed decayed. This hotel needs a general makeover and looks like it has been let go. It would be nice if they fixed the back open area and added a grill, especially since they don't have a kitchen in the rooms. The best thing about this hotel is its location. However, I was surprised to find that they are not making investments in this location, despite being fully booked like the other Marriott hotels nearby. While parking was plentiful and well-marked, I wouldn't stay here again if I could help it. However, if there are no other options, I may make a...
