As a back history, family brought me food from here probably two or more years ago. I was home working on a big project. I have allergies as well as sensitivities to certain foods and am not able to just scrape everything off. The sandwich was made wrong (their default way and not how it was ordered). Project or not, I sped back there and was not very nice (although I usually am). They offered to make more and I told them I had no time. The poor manager hurried, grabbed money from the till (without even ringing the refund yet as I recall). He told me to come back for a free meal. He never gave me anything to show for it (as he was trying to get me on my way), but I was to mention his name, I believe. I never went back nor got it. If I remember right, the manager was middle-aged, with glasses, thinning hair, short, a little bit overweight and sort of had what I’d call an accountant look. Between then and tonight I have had family bring me breakfast food and they seemed to mess that up fairly often too, but I dealt with it. Last night I was going to go there. It was between that and Burger King and a co-worker wanted Burger King. I told her it was probably a good thing, because Bob Evans would probably mess mine up anyhow. Tonight, I decide to finally give them another shot at making the sandwich mentioned above right. I should have known better. I slept less than 4 hours, worked over 13 hours (minus an hour lunch), called in the order while leaving work. It is 22 degrees. I left the vehicle running, went in, the young lady at the counter was very nice and we chit-chatted. I confirmed with her that she got my order the way I asked. She said yes. She apologized for the order not being ready which was no problem. I was pretty sure I saw the sandwich was wrong as she bagged, so I unbagged and checked. Sure enough their way…. THE WRONG WAY again. She took it to the kitchen and said "Guys, this was supposed to be (the way I ordered it). She brought it back within minutes, so I know they just took the extra crap off. I could have done that myself. I told her I have allergies and she went to get the manager. I believe I told her and the manager separately about the same thing happening the last time I was there. He said "let me make you a fresh one". So, I wait probably 10-15 more minutes (I turn off the car to keep from burning even more gas). It is obvious to me there is a problem in getting food made right here. It is a crap shoot at best. The quality of the food is okay enough, so if you don't mind not getting what you ordered or at least how you ordered, you might be okay. Not me. At least the manager the last time did what he could to make it right, but I never collected on the "free meal" and simply only got back the money I had spent. Maybe that was because I had to drive back and was more visibly upset. For the record, I eat many meals out, I have formed friendly acquaintances with many restaurant staff in town. I even often give restaurants other chances, as mistakes happen. But, if the same mistakes happen several times, there is a problem. I am not sure if this is getting staff that doesn't care, not training them, their not paying enough attention and just being on auto pilot, understaffed, bad systems or what. I actually think I showed great restraint tonight. Nonetheless, I have no immediate plans of going back. Even if I do, I doubt I order that again. For those who read my White Castle review from probably a year ago, I have still not returned there and I have free food coupons I could cash in. As far as Bob Evans, I wonder what it will take to solve this recurring problem, someone going into...
Read moreOrdered online. Arrived 5 mins before the pick up time. I could see a bag that probably contained my food (fish n chips, soup, and fruit). The cashier was serving 2 customers also picking up an order. This took all of 10 mins . Meanwhile, a line of customers who had dined, was forming to pay their bills. Finally another cashier arrives, and promptly takes the bill from a guy behind me, and totally ignores me. I'd now been standing, waiting for nearly 15 mins. She looks to me, I tell her that the guy she just served joined the line after me, and that I was collecting an online order. She retrieves a bag, yes the very one I suspected had my food in it, I ask to open the container as I suspected it would not be very hot by now. No surprises: cold. She calls the manager. He looks at the food items, looks at me, and says "yes sir?" I tell him my food is cold. He said it was supposed to be picked up at 7.49pm. I explained that I'd been there since 7.45pm, it was now past 8pm, and all of the above. 10mins later, I got what I ordered: hot! Not so much as an apology, or anything of the kind. No tip was given. I got back to my hotel. The soup was radioactive is was so hot, and I suspect the original piece of fish which was golden, had been refried as it was now dark brown and needed hammer and chisel to get in the fish. Total...
Read moreSunday. 2:15pm. Mgr took forever to seat us.... then sat us (in an empty restaurant...maybe 3 tables) at a booth with obviously dirty seats. Took 2 napkins to clean up, which we had to go find. Server was nice and friendly (Morgan). Then the food came out wrong. Wrong items on wrong plates. Then the eggs ordered over easy came out broken and well done. Then the loaded hashbrowns and loaded home fries (which we paid extra for) were missing the sour cream and chives. We told Morgan, and she ended up getting all the food re-done, but the meal was piece by piece (never once did the manager come check on us...he was busy leaning against a wall the entire time). Then the bathrooms. The floors were literally sticky, and your shoes stuck as you took each step. One stall had poop clogged in it. The other had pee all over the toilet seat. There were NO hand towels. I hope Morgan (and the other server, who seemed to be busting her tail, working hard as well) find a better place to work. Morgan seemed out of place at such a dump. Definitely a mgmt issue, bc Bob Evans are...
