How do you give negative stars?? This place should be demolished and forgotten. I travel often and always choose super 8 by Wyndham for the rates and decent rooms, after all I travel for work and am only sleeping there. After a 3 hour flight I landed and arrived at the super 8 by Wyndham at 5888 Broadway in Denver Colorado area. It was nearly midnight when I checked in, other than the area seeming a bit sketchy it seems like an average super 8. I was checked into a room and when I entered I was instantly hit in the face with the hot air from the running heater and the smell of 100 ashtrays mixed with mildew/mold. Upon entering the room I found there was an unknown substance melted onto the end table next to the bed which I poked with the end of a capped pen and found to be solid. No idea what that was. All the lampshades where stained yellow from cigarette smoke damage, most also torn or damaged in some way. I laid out my own sleeping bag on the bed and didn’t dare use any pillows or the shower for fear of contamination. A few hours later I left to visit the clients I’ve traveled for and when I returned that evening I entered the room and was nearly physically ill due to the smell and condition of the room...highly undesirable (to say the least) after a hard day of hard labor. I packed all my things and went to the front desk with the comment card from the room fully filled out and was met by the front desk staff, Oscar. I proceeded to state the room was an abomination and I wouldn’t be staying there another moment. Well Oscar couldn’t care less because “I’ve worked here three years, this is how things are, nothing’s going to change.” I asked for a phone number to contact and file a complaint and ocsar advised me of my ability to google it because “I’m just front desk staff, what do you want me to do?”
Customer service, Oscar. That’s what I want from you.
I left and told Oscar to enjoy his tweaker resort. I found another super 8 on Kipling about 13 minutes away and it is absolutely lovely. Clean, no smell, everything in its place and a staff that was empathetic and super helpful.
MARY at the front desk was especially wonderful and showed me the premises and an available room for me, should I choose to stay there. I happily agreed and have been here now almost three days. No drug addicts ruining around the halls and everything is clean and as o would expect.
Now to figure out how to get $179 refunded because that’s what Oscar at the other super 8...
Read moreIts been a trip for sure ended up against better judgment booked a room using hotel wiz never use them they are a spiteful business id of rather them not have even helped.. but we booked a nice room in the wrong city. Called them got it fixed we thought i was surprised hotelwiz answered and "helped " they got us the 68 dollar refund and I told the man we needed the super 8 in Stapleton. He said he could book it for 130 fine sure whatever we had been on the river trip sleeping in tents and wanted a nice stay with breakfast. Then he says he couldn't do that but the other super 8 in central was 140 and he could book that real quick i didn't do any research on the phone on the place didn't think it could be that bad. we regretted it as soon as we pulled up. i looked at my husband and said no but there was absolutely no refunds now considering it was the day of and the man I spoke to said there would be nothing more he could do. The people at the desk where friendly but they couldn't help either the pool is closed and honestly the only thing to compare this hotel to is a crack hotel. Loud nasty rundown we new if we stay tonight we would have to take all our river stuff inside we opened the door the lock is broke and there is no way we are going to sleep here . We would get better safe cleaner sleep in the truck tonight. The only thing I can do is show pictures and make sure no one uses hotel wiz they won't even give me the time of day when I called. We are not picky we ask for clean safe room when we stay somewhere and good breakfast. I wouldn't eat what comes out of that kitchen if it was going to be my lady meal for a month. Hopefully cooperate will contact me. The hotel said hotelwiz had to do refund and hotelwiz said the hotel had to do it. I don't care who does something...
Read moreA decent room at a fair market price. They provide a very good free breakfast each morning till 9am. At first thought wud be kinda smallish on selections but was happy to find it offering coffee, hot cocoa, milk, orange juice, apple juice, 2 flavors of yogurt, fruit cups, danishes of several flavors, toast white and wheat, 5 kinds if cereal, two flavors of oatmeal, waffles, syrup, two kinds of jelly, and butter. Also has a small offering of snacks and drinks in a front desk store that u have to pay for but is very convenient and not over priced at all actually not ss expensive as the truck stop stores prices on corner. Rooms are clean laubdry facilities at front office are front loaders and well maintained the washers and dryers each cost $2.00 to use but u have provide ur own quarters cuz front doesnt ever have any and they dont have a bill changer on site. The local stores to walk to will give u up to $2.00 change each when u purchase something from them so that helps. Seasonal pool. Out door entrances. 24 hr front desk. Quiet, rooms are in need of a remodel or at least a good matching paint job and in our restoom the ceiling above shower is sagging badly so i wud assume they have a leak above it they shud attend to. A very close proximity to the interstate and furniture row and a few minute jaunt to downtown denver in a personal vehicle and the stop to catch a bus to take u to transfer to a bus or train that will take u anywhere in metro area for a reasonable rate. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are soft and comfortable, blinds keep room dark. Coffee maker in room, microwave in room, and small fridge in room as well. Good selection of television channels to choose from. All in all a good place to stay on a budget. Will stay here again...
