I took some friends to the red rooster for lunch and Was told Never to come back since I did not want to pay for a meal I was not satisfied with. I’ve been to this restaurant before and never complained. The food was good. I’ve taken friends and family there before as well. I could not believe it. This is what happened. I ordered the new york strip steak medium well and eggs. I asked if I could have grilled onions added to my potatoes. The meal also came with two pancakes. The everything was delicious, but the steak was too pink in the middle. It was medium rare. I asked the waitress if she could have to chef to cook it just a little more and that everything else was fine. ( seemed to have a bad attitude because I asked her to do this.)She really did not want to take it back. She brings it back and it was over cooked. It was well done and chewy. They gave more potatoes without the grilled onions. I tried to eat it. I put pepper on it to try to make both the steak and the potatoes taste better. I mentioned it to the waitress who offered to take back the potatoes. She brought it back a minute later and said the potatoes had onions, but not the grilled onions I ordered before. I could not taste the onions. My friend who was with me suggested that since I was not eating it, just pay for the pancakes. We called the waitress over and asked her if she would take off everything, but the pancakes. She took the receipt and said I need to talk to my boss. She comes back and said he said since you ate half you have to pay for half. I said I did not eat half. She took my receipt again and came back tore the receipt up and front of my face and said he said not to come back to the restaurant. I could not believe it. We were very nice to the waitress and never said anything out of the way. Why did they tell not to come back? Is it because I was not satisfied with my meal. I’ve been to this restaurant before and never had problems. I will not go back ever again! Please beware! Please beware. I did let others in restaurant know what happened. I did get an apology from a couple of workers and the manager in the restaurant. It doesn’t help. I’ve never told never to come back to any place. They have lost three...
Read moreI first want to say that the staff is always nice and accommodating. I have come to this restaurant many times and this time around, the food was horrible. I ordered a chili burger and fries. The burger was served on two pieces of Texas toast on the bottom of the sandwich, not a bun and not one on top and one on the bottom, the chili was flavorless and had a weird light brown color and the fries, not crispy were smothered in this so called chili concoction that resembled some type of canned chili that someone tried to doctor up. I was brought another order of fries, they were not crispy and they looked old, even though they were just cooked. My husband ordered basted eggs and potatoes. The eggs were very runny and the potatoes (hash browns) were large slices of potato with the skin on. Some pieces were burnt to a crisp while other pieces had no color at all. Our friend ordered an omelet and (hash browns). His potatoes like my husband's had burnt pieces and pieces with no color at all but his potatoes also had a thin sliced piece of potato that was about 2" x 3" and nothing potato skin. For some reason I'm am unable to post...
Read moreI really think this place is possibly the most overrated restaurant in Denver. First off the good, the service was great, food was served quickly and everyone was nice and friendly.
The bad: The food.
Terrible. I ordered a BLT, 2 gyro sandwich's, and chicken tenders for the young one.
The BLT comes on this giant bun and is soggy in the middle, why is the bun so big??? The bacon was ok but it was basically a lettuce salad with one small tomato slice on this massive bun.
The gyro meat was good at least, definitely the best thing out of all the food, the pita bread was ok, kind of soggy, way too many peppercinis I give this wrap/sandwich a 4/10.
I was upsold to a salad side for the gyros, had 1 single cucumber, and some odd looking pickle thing. Just threw that out, the salad was standard otherwise.
The tenders were also pretty standard, asked for cottage cheese as a side (extra 3 dollars for half a cup). Served on a bed of lettuce for some reason.
All this to go came up to 70 dollars!!!!! The worst part about this place was the price, way too expensive for the low...
