On March 19th and the 20th, my brother and I stayed at the aforementioned hotel due to the good reviews, and inexpensive pricing. Upon the arrival my brother and I were approached by a man and asked if we wanted to join him in his room on the first floor to partake in some recreational pot. My brother and I politely declined and went up to the second floor to our room. Everything went pretty well the first night. The next day my brother and I went hiking at Turkey Run State Park from 10:30 am to 5 pm. We weren't back in the hotel long before we realized the room didn't have any spare toiletries and when had to venture to the empty lobby for a spare roll of toilet paper. Once we were back in our room, not but an hour later, Monique, the front desk associate, came pounding on the doors of the hallway. I thought the hotel was on fire, or someone was hurt, but upon opening the door I heard her tell my neighbor across the hall; "Once you open the door I'll know who's been smoking." She then approached me and yelled in my face; "YOU'VE BEEN SMOKING IN YOUR ROOM AND I'M CHARGING YOU!" My brother and I have tried on several different occasions that we were not smoking in our room, and that my brother who does smoke cigarettes, went two doors down to the stairwell and outside the hotel to smoke EVERY single time he smoked and that she could look at the cameras. In addition, the door to the stairwell from the outside and to the second floor would only close if you pushed or pulled it shut. She was still screaming that she was charging us and anyone else who wont open their door. As she walked away she stated she would be back with her master card to open anyone's door who didn't not willingly open it the first time. When we left we informed the desk personal that we will be contacting corporate. Corporate was a joke, they said they had to leave it in the hands of the Manager and that they would email the manager and then reach out to me when they heard back. This process could take 5-7 business days. After 7 business days, I did not get an e-mail or a phone call, so I contacted the Crawfordsville location myself and was given the runaround not once but 3 times! Suba, the manager, couldn't be bothered with calling me back that she had Monique, the one who charged me, "deal with it" as Monique so eloquently put it. I told her I needed to talk to the manager, not her, to which she responded by getting my information for the 4th time and said she would have her call me. I then called corporate back and after waiting for 45 minutes they told me that Suba did respond with; "They admitted to smoking in the hotel room and we are not refunding their $100." The agent told me that they stand behind the hotel's decision. I demanded they send me any and all evidence to this ludicrous accusation and was hung up on! My mother, having worked for an attorney for 30 plus years, contacted the hotel itself and demanded to speak with Suba and wanted copies of all the evidence against my brother and myself, to which Monique having had my brother and my consent to speak with our mother, hung up on her. When my mother called back she claimed they were disconnected and that while we were disconnected Suba called and would call us in the morning. That was yesterday. As of today Suba has not called, additionally is she conveniently not on the property. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!! SPEND EXTRA CASH GO TO HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS AND SUITE! Anyone who is willing to open and go into your room without your consent, this is ILLEGAL!! Unless the police are involved with a warrant, they CANNOT LEGALLY enter your room!!! Would give zero...
Read moreMy “experience” began on October 18, 2024. Arrived around 3 PM and was greeted very nicely by Monique. Everything seemed to be in order, until we arrived in our room. I had reserved a suite with a king bed and pullout sofa bed for my daughter to sleep on for 2 nights.(Her choice) Upon inspection of the bed, my wife found a bedbug under the comforter, as well as a couple of questionable stains and numerous hairs, some short and some long.🤮 She immediately went to the front desk and reported the findings, and was offered a different room. Thinking everything was going to be ok, we packed up our belongings and proceeded to the room next door. Guess what, basic room, no sofa bed for my daughter. So I asked about the room type and was told that was all they had.🤬 We should have got a refund and left. They did give us a roll away bed, which barely fit in this room. I was livid by this point! I, myself went to the front desk to find someone different, that couldn’t make any decisions without a manager, which I guess was MIA. Fine, whatever, we just wanted to sleep by this time of screwing with things. The next morning, we went to breakfast and again, was very disappointed. Everything seemed empty or old, like yesterday’s breakfast. Not good at all! I did, however, find Monique back at the front desk. So I questioned her about our situation and all she could tell me is that she could offer me 10% off. Sad try but whatever! The second morning was exactly the same thing with breakfast. Not acceptable! The only thing that was edible was the omelet that was made by the same gentleman both mornings. Very good job, sir. The morning of our checkout, Monique said she could give me 15% off instead of 10%. Nice try, again!🤬 That’s just a slap in the face! We even saw that some unsuspecting person had been placed in our original room, probably just changed the sheets and went on, all about making money. In closing, my family and I will not be staying at this hotel again and I urge other families that like a good clean place to stay to...
Read moreThis review is based on the NON Cust Svc and hassle of a female lounging, behind the desk after 4pm 5/29.
Explaining I'm disabled and limited on walking (spinal injury) normally my wife is with for these long drive doctor visits which is about 4 hrs a day tops for me and 3 days to get to doctors. I carry an oxygen machine various other bags as well and use the dolly to transfer my belongings.
Back to the non caring waste of space lounging behind the counter. I ask for a room down stairs not price.
She said yes there is 1. Ok how far down? Maybe 1/2 way or so. Ok. You have a room #? No, I have to enter you in the system. (Well I've travel most of my life for work, late 80s and know thats not true).
So now I'm dealing with a NON SVC Desk Clerk A Hassle creator and a liar.
So now she comes up with a room down the other hall. I ask can you show me pls. She get up out of her seat. Comes out says ok it's down there. I said would you pls walk to the door and point to it. Which did but wasnt happy. And I surly wasn't going to believe that was the room. I told her I left my handy cap placard in my other vehicle. She was quick to point out, "You can't park there without a tag". And we only have (1) space. They have (2).
So I left and went to the other hotel. Explained my issue. No problem, sir we have a room close for you. If you need a hand I got someone to help. Gave my ID & CC the Lady said Sir I gave you the seniors discount as well, and I said thank you very much. Without ever asking how much. Now that's Cust Svc!
Cust Svc is trainable but for the most part, it's built in common sense.
What I experienced has been few and far between with 1,000 of hotel ch ins. This employee may want to go into housekeeping or something else and receive a little more training in Cust Svc.
I'm not one to complain much over things and actually very tired and sore from the travel. But this BW is privately owned and I'm sure they lost other custs as well from her not...
