If you blink, you'll miss the place! Try not to or YOU'LL MISS OUT.
The place is PHENOMENAL ♥️
The salsa was the first clue... Fresh, spicy and full of flavor, I instantly fell in love. The chips were delicate, crispy and perfect.
As I perused the menu - everything looked interesting and intriguing. Many had Oaxacan names that I'm not too familiar with. They also have the typical burritos and such for those that can't break away from the usual.
I finally decided on the green salsa chicken enchiladas and refried beans. I was hungry and wondered how my food might taste and telling from the salsa I got really excited. By the time my dish made it to the table, the chips and salsa were gone!
Needless the say, I looking forward to my meal. When it arrived, I was stunned by the visual appeal and portion size of the plate. Everything was fantastic. Next time I'm having a Oaxacan specialty. The only unfortunate thing is that I came alone, otherwise I could have sampled my friends/family's food - but I shall be back - many times!
I can hardly wait! I'm definitely bringing others next time. This place has to be shared.

Read moreRandomly stumbled across this place with my friend. We were craving burritos! The place is pretty small with a bout 10 tables inside. The decor is very Mexican with photo art hanging on the walls of the place. They have a variety of items on the menu, but of course I went straight to the burrito section. We ended up ordering just one Mojado Burrito Especial with Carne Asada for us to share, which was perfect since the burrito is pretty large. The burrito was very good and the carne asada inside was on point! The menu said it included avocado, but once I finished the burrito I realized that it didn't have any! I guess it was too late at that point to ask for the avocado. The chips and salsa were also very good, salsa was extra spicy just how I like it. We left paying only $8+tip for the burrito, no drinks, just water and satisfied!
El Jacalito is a good random place to eat Mexican food at very good prices. Nothing fancy, just delicious food (well at least the burrito and the...
Read moreGood food, good value. Interesting menu. Had a Jamaica agua (hyacinth), which was very refreshing. Mole was very tasty. And on top of that, a 30 second walk from my motel.😀. Had the burrito pictured below the second night I went, very good. It was huge and I wasn't sure I would eat it all, but it was delicious and not heavy. Sorry, I ate a little before I took my picture. Also as someone else mentioned, the salsa and chips were really good, very fresh tasting hot salsa (quite hot, maybe too much so for some). I don't get to eat too much Mexican food in my area, and certainly not Oaxacan Mexican food, but I enjoyed it enough to eat it two nights in a row, after having street tacos and such for lunch both...
