We had some pre-pandemic points to use up that would be expiring soon so my husband and I planned a mini vacation. We decided to go to the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair and also spend some time in SF. The location was good, within 30 minutes (parking included) to the Cow Palace and only a few minutes drive to the Daly City Bart Station.
I found all the employees and staff to be very nice, courteous, and professional, especially Isaiah and Roberto. They were both helpful, answering questions and giving recommendations. Vanessa was my initial contact. She was sweet and very professional, assigning us a room number in a quiet location as I requested and also noted that I asked for early check in. I called on the way to verify early check in and spoke to Denise. She made sure our room was ready when we arrived. Denise was both knowledgeable and friendly. We both got good vibes from her. The whole team made us feel welcome and at home.
The hotel was exceptionally clean! Exceptionally. Please tip the maids. Our room (412) was mostly quiet. It's above the parking lot and across from the police station (I felt very safe) so there was the occasional siren because we were so close to the station, plus there was some overhead air traffic coming from SFO due to our proximity. Overall, it was quiet but pack earplugs if the occasional noise disturbs you. The bed was quite comfortable. The shower could use some more water pressure and it took awhile to get hot but otherwise good. No more small bottles, soap, shampoo, etc are now located on the wall.
The biggest problem was the lack of food. Aside from the complimentary breakfast there is no hotel restaurant, room service, or bar, just a few snacks and TV dinners for sale that you can microwave in the room. The Cantonese restaurant across the street was a welcome sight and not bad. There's also a sandwich shop in the back that we didn't try, however, those are the only places nearby that I saw.
Even so, my husband and I will be back. The hotel is basic but solid and in a good location, just off of HWY 280. The price was affordable when you start to compare with others in the area. I've stayed in places that were a little closer to the airport (5 min from SFO) that charged $100 more per night. All in all a good deal and a...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience at the Hampton Inn! My friend Craig recommended this hotel because he stayed here at a time where he was getting something fixed at his apartment. My standards are really high when it comes to hotels. I usually sanitize it myself and do all the cleaning and look under the mattresses to make sure there's no bed bugs cuz I do not want any creepy crawlies on my children or myself. The lobby is fairly small but the presentation and the colors and the friendliness of the staff made a big impact! There is a restroom a little bit past the elevators to the right of the lobby. They have snacks and drinks that you can charge to your room or purchase at the counter. They have a lot of available seating. And let me tell you the breakfast was awesome!!! There was a Belgian waffle maker and a smaller individual waffle maker for kids. They had sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, orange juice, fruit juice, milk, muffins, cubed potatoes & french toast sticks!😋🤤 The room was completely clean, it smells clean and it was clean! I really didn't have to do anything to the room. And they had a refrigerator which was a bonus because we had to stay here two nights while our car was getting fixed. What is very fortunate is that this hotel lets you use the existing beds if you have a large family. They said that they don't have pull out beds but I wasn't worried about that because I was using the existing beds, on one of my trips to get some food for the fridge I saw that there was a crib that they had just pulled out of a hotel room. The parking lot is all the way down but there is a elevator to the second and third floor. The third floor is actually the hotel lobby 🤣 there are washer and dryers so you can wash your own clothes there. There is a gym on the first floor. Pretty good size, weights, elliptical, treadmill.. The regular. I will definitely be staying here again to visit my best friend Craig! And P.S thank you Hampton Inn for letting us celebrate my son's 4th birthday in your lobby! He said this was a good day! Which really shocked me because we usually go all out for birthdays and just staying there with you made it all that special for him! Your friendliness, respectfulness and attentiveness will not be...
Read moreI'm a pretty tough critic so here we go:
My friends and I were coming here to see Zedd at Bill Graham but since some of us were driving in I wanted to find somewhere with free parking and, if possible, free breakfast. This place had both and it was near enough to where we wanted to be so I said sure, let's try it.
Check-in was easy and the front desk was always helpful throughout my stay. For instance, since some of my friends were driving up Saturday I asked if their room could be as close to us as possible, which they did do for us. Yes there is free coffee and tea 24/7, and there's a station at the water fountain to refill a water bottle as well which is always nice and environmentally friendly. Love that.
First thing I noticed when I walked into the room was that there was an actual door to the bathroom, and not one of those sliding ones which I HATE and everyone seems to have nowadays. But, upon exploring, there are also bathrooms elsewhere in the hotel to use if yours is occupied by a friend who takes long showers. Love that. The TV did have Live TV as well as some streaming options -- Netflix and YouTube were the only two we used. There wasn't any options for like HBOMax or Paramount+ or Disney+ ... I wish we could access all our streaming accounts but those worked well enough for us.
The gym downstairs -- one of the larger gyms for sure that I've seen in a hotel. My friend and I worked out in there, watched some TV while working out. Loved all of that.
When I was hungry I wanted to just walk somewhere to grab some food and right downstairs was a sandwich shop which I thought was good. The next day we walked to the In-N-Out which was maybe a 5-7 minute walk, along with a Krispy Kreme and then we walked to the CVS a little further away. All so close and convenient. Loved all that.
I mean, other than that, the only downside I saw was that the water pressure was a little light but I can live with that. So glad I decided to try out this hotel bc now when I come to SF I will consider this as one of my...
