If you’re looking to take a trip to Virginia you should check out Caesars Virginia Casino 📍. My hotel room is so clean, nice and it’s been so peaceful here. I can’t wait to try all the restaurants, slot machines and amenities. #virginia #hotel #travel #explore #fyp

Quick one-night only visit so I will update my review on any further visits.

Good: brand new hotel so room was fully operational and up to date and nicely themed with a nice view and a good size. Casino floor is very easy to navigate as it’s basically a big open floor plan. $1 bubble craps machine which I have never seen before. Nice bars. Food was fairly easy to access but didn’t try any of it to review that fairly. Prices were a touch high though. Valet was courteous and I like that you can see the dedicated valet lot which is gated off and we could see our car from the room. Very friendly staff from valet to lobby to security. Atmosphere was more of a party than Cherokee by comparison.

Bad: •You get assaulted with cigarette smoke before you even open the front door to the property and the entire lobby reeks. You’re trying to check in to your room and it just reeks of cigarettes so bad you’re not sure you want to stay anymore. •They only have 4 check-in kiosks and they weren’t working. I’m a rewards member and stay at Cherokee many times per year and never have issues with their check-in kiosks. Then, they didn’t have the room I booked and said I had to go to a double queen instead… after a little pushback they magically found a king room but it was not the one I booked, and the floor wasn’t finished either. •I didn’t take a pic but the ice machine room looked like a crime scene with bright red liquid stains all over the floor; Hope that person is OK. •Inconsistent rules with security; they were all nice but one group of security said I could take my open drink container in, and another said I could not. It’s not going to crumble the casino to let me have one damn drink from outside the security gate to inside the security gate, and these Caesar properties need to cut that shit out. You’re letting people smoke weed in the open floor but I can’t have 3 ounces of legal liquid drink in a cup or can walk across the line of carpet. Grow up. •There’s too much light on the floor for my taste. It looks really nice but it doesn’t allow the slots to cast any nice glow on you or the room, it’s just white and gold chandeliers all over. I want to bask in the warm LEDs of the slots as they burn my retinas. •Slot variety was minimal. Tons of buffalo variants and piggy banks which are gaining in popularity but a lack of some classics were noticeable. I searched and searched and couldn’t find any good Chance slots with vibrating reels. They have the Max volume turned down super low so you can barely hear any slots, but I want my ears to bleed when I play so this was annoying for me. Very progressives were available, as most jackpots were $1200-2500, and only saw one group in the 20k range. There was no imagination of winning 200k+ on a magical slot pull, at least not that I could find. •Friday night had tables jam packed but they had tables not being used. In other words, very understaffed. In 8 hours I could not get on a craps table. •Limited shop and dining. I enjoy destination dining and even though I didn’t eat here, there’s nothing here that’s worth going out of your way for. I will never lose all my money here “but” got to eat at XYZ restaurant. Only one small gift shop, no other shops of any kind.

All in all, I will happily be back IF I’m going that way and the room is free, because I love to gamble and eat. They need to increase their availability of comp nights though or I won’t be back. Cherokee has more to offer, including mountains with trails, as well as comp nights that keep me coming back time after time after time, even though it’s 50% farther for me to travel to. I make plans to go to Cherokee, whereas Caesar’s Virginia will have to attract me to go back.

Update 2 months later: comp nights have gone from few to absolutely none, not worth going back to...

Well, lets sit here a moment and process how terrible this experience was. There are so many things to mention, we will see how many I forget in the process. When you pull in from the back road, the way the GPS brings you in, there are no signs to show you where the front entrance of the hotel is. So, we just parked in the parking garage, then had no idea where to go as no signs guide any guest upon arrival. Once we found our way to the casino floor, the casino security informed us there was additional parking on the front if we can find our way, but we were able to pull our bags through the casino if we would like. As we proceeded to find the hotel check in, the man did allow us to check in early, no mention of how to link our ceaser rewards, the price he was charging me was different than pre-booked online, no mention of where to go for activities, a map, or how to sign into Wi-Fi. We did ask him where parking was at the front of the hotel, he told us there was none. The room was okay, just okay. We were short towels, we were out of conditioner and body wash. The fridge did not cool. The Wi-Fi (once figuring out how to sign in) was sub-par. The TV went in and out with connection issues. We found more to watch with the free Pluto we all have at home, than the dish network. The stream from your phone, kept kicking us out. And in case you thought the TV would drown out the railroad behind the hotel, it won't. You hear it all night long. That and the noise of construction equipment are going to be part of your vacation. At the ceaser rewards counter, they were nice, but the cards would only work at the machines half the time. We would try it several times, we would just simply get up and go try at another machine. The odds of winning at this casino are so low that it takes the fun out of it. I did ask for a map, they told me if there was one, they did not know how to get one. Then I wanted to venture to the pool. I had to ask 4 housekeepers before I found one that finally told me she would walk me to it. I was told they don't know how to get there bc they aren't allowed to go there anyway. The pool.. is clean and beautiful and the best part of this casino. A Holiday Inn would have been even better for the price the casino feels like they should charge people. The pool needs a bar. Like a legit bar. Where the slushie machines actually freeze the drinks. I was told that I should just walk inside to the main bar... in my bathing suit, all the way in the center of the casino. That seems a little much to ask a guest to do. Can we not pay someone to come and take drink orders since I have to pay for all my drinks here anyway. And as I go to the pool, the food, the bar I had to walk past a room full of people being trained each time. That seems a little much for the guest. The food here is not worth the price. Not at all. Like some other reviews, its gas station food. I walked inside for a snack while at the pool, they said they don't have any snacks or anything the price of a snack. So I resorted to having to buy a whole pizza to get a slice. I read online that Ceasers wanted to incorporate Daville's history which is why they kept the old smokestacks. But you don't know what they are, the history of them, or anything else unless you google that yourself. I feel like with the amount of money spent on this place and at this place it could be ran and managed to truly produce massive amounts of profit besides sucking people's money at the machines. I won't be back. I did want to give this place a valid try since it is the closest one to my home, but I will...

My wife and I have been going to different Casino's 10+ times a year the past 4 or 5 years, mostly MGM. I can say rewards are much better with MGM but thats not the issue here for me. I'll start with arrival, the room was not ready until 5:20pm. There were other people with the same issue. My wife sat in the floor while we waited after the 3hr drive. The TV was connected to something or someone elses device and played 2 seperate audio channels at once, the water was luke warm at best. I was shaking having to take a cold shower. My wife didnt shower at all because of that. There was no room service or ice bucket. Didnt need a ice bucket the ice machines i believe have not been hooked up or already broke. The fridge was unplugged and had never been hooked up. Room was small but clean. The Casino floor is not as large as I would have thought compared to other Casino's. They had no signs at service desk for rewards customer's. It was cold last night. Everyone was wearing long sleaves and Coats. Seen a few people with hoodies on pulled tight. I keep my house 69 year round so it had to be in the low 60's for me to be cold. My wife was freezing thats the biggest argument in my house. Not many options for food other than burgers, pizza, noodle bar and Gordon Ramsey. Gordon Ramsey was full. After the room not being ready we went to the pizza place and they got the order wrong. Didnt get our salads or water, and to top it all off had no pepperoni on our pizza, the cashier was kinda rude. So, we decided to eat dinner ab 9:30 at Dan Dan noodle bar. The host told us, even though half the room was empty she couldnt seat anyone else because the kitchen couldnt handle it. They didnt give us a buzzer and told us just to check back in 20-25 min. We decided to just hang around. Ab 5 min passed and someone else walks up and gets seated. Then my wife gets the host attention and addresses it, she apoligized and blamed it on management. I got the Dan Dan noodle bowl, noodle were overcooked, stuck together, slimey and flavorless. Spring rolls were mushy and it was the worst Spicy Tuna roll. Ive ever had. Harriss Teeter and Sam's are way better. My wife at 1 bite of her bowl, 1 bite of the Spring roll and 1 piece of sushi. I however was very hungry and managed to get most of it down. This morning went looking for breakfast and all I could find was Starbuck's. Maybe there is something there with a breakfast option but I didnt see it anywhere. I went and played a few times at the tent...I can deal with that. I knew I was going to a tent to gamble. I thought I was going to a Casino/Hotel this time and expected a certain level of Service....this place is for the locals and surrounding communities. Do not make plans to take a vacation or spend the weekend here you will be dissappointed if you go to other Casino's and expect the same with Danville casino. MGM National Harbor, Rivers Casino in Portsmouth, Harrahs Cherokee are all better options for someone looking to have a fun night or weekend. Very...
