We rely on reviews when choosing hotels and wasn’t considered prior to arriving to this hotel. The reviews raved about our clean it is.

We checked in got our cards went to our room but the room number wasn’t legible. And the front desk lady never told me the room number. Tried every room that it could be before going back to the front desk. The cards didn’t work on any door so back to the front desk we go. She gave us new cards and helped us figure out what room number as she couldn’t even tell based on the written number.

We literally dropped our bags as the trolley was arriving. When we got back we inspected the room. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t even been cleaned. The shower curtain was back and new towels; but the shower had hair in the tub and the sink had leftover toothpaste. The kids wanted to swim so they went to the pool and I went back to the front desk. I informed the new front desk clerk replied with “well I wasn’t here this morning and the housekeeping staff must have just missed a spot”. I’m sorry but that is not just missing spot and a very poor response. He informed me he would come and clean the bathroom once he got done fixing a door. I said we are in the pool just come get me. I waited 45 min and went back up and some other guy (who didn’t look like he worked there) was helping me now and he’s like is it still not clean? I’m like I have no idea, he never came and got me. He said he went and did it. I said I wished I would have known and expressed for you to come get me as we have stuff in there, etc. the new guy said he has already left a note for the manager for tomorrow morning when we check out.

The room wasn’t bad but it made me leery if the bathroom wasn’t even clean. We never were offered a different room. I guess I didn’t push hard enough for it? It looks like there are three sets of curtains. The two shut and the blackout ones are stationery and only cover like 6 inches on each side of the window. Therefore the room does not get dark.

The breakfast area could use some work. The seats are all worn and are kind of an eye sore. The breakfast is a typical hotel breakfast. Go to check out with the same lady that checked us in, she asked how our stay was. I said well it could have better. I said the guys last night said the manager is here this morning. She said “she didn’t come in” and that she is leaving a note for her to call me on Monday. It’s now Saturday and I have never received a phone call. I would have posted this review earlier but we were camping in the Black Hills.

I do not recommend staying at this hotel, customer service and housekeeping need a lot of work! If you are coming to Deadwood, pick a...

Was scammed. Called hotel directly. Apparently got sent to a third party who charged me double what the hotel charges. Other couples was only $547. We paid over $800 ||None of the accommodations were open or working. There was no mini golf. The arcade wasn't working or the casino. ||When we went to our room the door stop was holding the door. Open room was seemingly clean until we looked around and found a baby pacifier chips paper bottle caps and a kids toy left in our room. Had to talk to front desk to come down and clean it. ||On the next Saturday we were there. Our hotel key wouldn't work. Had to go down to the front desk. They gave me a replacement key. Still didn't work. Deactivated the first two and gave me two new replacement keys that still did not work. The front desk then gave me a master key which didn't work. Had to go back down and get a second Master key which again did not work. The front desk ended up giving me a housekeeping key that also had two physical keys on it. It did open my door but I looked that to be a huge liability as I had access to any room in the hotel. ||The hot tub was peeling so much paint. It was floating around the water and disgusting.||When we were leaving checking out early due to the experience we had with the hotel The pool area was getting shut down because everything was flooding and they had said they were supposed to have it fixed but didn't have all the parts so they just opened it so people weren't complaining to them It was closed. ||The checkout process was horrible also as I called the hotel directly to book and like earlier stated was kicked to a third party as they were trying to figure out how it got booked. The checkout process took over 38 minutes. ||Left message with two different front desk workers to have the owner or manager call me and even still have not heard anything 5 days later. ||Would never...

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! Called the night before we booked asking if they had a hot tub and was told yes. Got checked in and the whole family was ready for the hot tub and pool and hotel had a sign up from winter stating the pool and hot tub heater was not working and the man would be here the next day to fix it and 3 days later no one has showed up to attempt to fix it. Was not told it was not working or we wouldn’t have booked. Arcade was shut down and was told that the people who ran the arcade would also be there the next day to refill tickets and fix some games, asked someone different about it the next day and was told they aren’t opening it back up that they are actually taking it out of the hotel! Needed to wash some clothes and the washer won’t spin the clothes out and our clothes were soaking wet! Vending machine was out of order! We played mini golf and got fiberglass in our hands from the flag poles when getting our ball out of the hole which is full of fiberglass. Staff are not real friendly. Our whole stay here was terrible! We will never come back. Every reason we booked was out of order and not usable!!! Hotel is non refundable so a huge waste of money on what should’ve been a great family vacation stay. Only thing not out of order and working is the bar. So if you plan to book this hotel for these reasons then don’t! This is not a kid friendly hotel! They don’t tell you all the things are broken until you book and then you go to use them and you cannot and they give you no refund or discounts. We will never book at this...

Impressed! Not only was the front desk staff kind, friendly and helpful but the place is clean and modern. The rooms are well laid out with clean microwaves and fridges. The bathroom is big and again, clean! Mini golf and two room arcade on site for the kids, bar, lounge pool tables and casino for the adults. Several public restroom throughout that are well cared for. Beautiful evergreen covered hills surround it in a unique western style town. Also an elevator for the 2nd floor, diverse breakfast options and the property is surrounded by flowing stream with waterfall, the hotel has a deck built with fire pit and chairs for enjoying the view. I even went back in after checking out to get some ice water for our trip. Not only was that fine but an employee set up the filtered water at the breakfast bar just for me. Service was incredible.

I'm being generous with the 4 stars. Desk staff were friendly and efficient. The location is great, but the hotel is old, but well kept, It's clean, I had a room with 2 queen beds, 318. There is peeling paint in the shower and some scratches on the walls by the entrance. I didn't notice hand prints on the walls which is a good thing. The air conditioner was already set to 65 and I estimated the temperature was in the high 70s just barely cooling the place, the room faces west so after closing the heavy curtains it helped with the cooling immensely. The breakfast was cooked to protection but limited to scrambled eggs pork sausage and biscuits. The cook was always on the ball. The closer you get to town the more expensive it is. There is a trolley that runs through the town and makes a stop at this hotel.
