My husband and I always stay at Comfort Suites Denham Springs when we travel to Denham Springs to see our family for years now over 6 years. We never stay anywhere else. However, this time we got in late at night as we have an over 9 hour drive to get there, were exhausted and were given a room that obviously had major problems with flooding or water pipe issues - it smelled horrible - it hit you as soon as you opened the door. The guy acted like he didn't notice anything and there was a dehumidifier in the room which was not actively working at the time (perhaps already full). He said it was a heater not a dehumidifier - I KNOW the difference. I had to argue to get a different room and he set us up in room next door. It was better but not like previous times we stayed there. When I took off my shoes in this room the rug was very damp. I was too tired to argue again so we stayed - as the days went on the room and the hall smelled worse and worse. The damp rug never dried out - we were there from Thursday till Monday check out. I was so disappointed - dreaded going back to our room each time and totally not happy with the entire situation. When we checked out I told the front desk person on Monday and she tired to defend the situation with humidity. You know it was way worse than that - she even said that they WERE using dehumidifiers to help but I am telling you it NEVER was like this before. There were only like 5 cars in this parking lot - if there was a better room available and there should have been, given hardly no one was there all weekend, they should have offered it to us but they did not and at the end tried to defend the bad situation not apologize for it. I really was uncomfortable there and worried I was going to experience respiratory issues - if I had asthma there would have been NO way I could have stayed. If the entire hotel had the same issue it should have been closed for repairs. My husband and I will never stay there again - believe me. We will be finding a new hotel for our family visits. They should have admitted the issues and tried to find a more suitable room if they really wanted to keep their customers happy. ...
Read moreHorrible horrible customer service. First off we booked a lot of rooms for a tournament we were attending. After booking and getting confirmation they called atleast 1 family and said they had to cancel their room bc they overbooked. We had about 10 or more rooms rented so a couple of us went at 215/220 to see if we could check in between games so that we could put our stuff in our room bc we were going to be at the tournament until real late. I was told that check in was @300 and the rooms were being cleaned. I understand check in isn’t until 3 but here I am 40 min early and you’re telling me you’re gonna have 10 rooms cleaned in 40 min but none are cleaned now?! Well the front desk lady walked away and I happened to see a lady in housekeeping and she seemed a bit confused on why we couldn’t check in well then someone else came walks out and starts the oh check in isn’t until 300. I told her I get that but I’ve never had a problem and that we travel a lot for softball and dance and have done so for the last 20 years. We’ll she walked away also bc she couldn’t give me an answer to how 10 plus rooms were all gonna be cleaned magically in 40 min. We left and I called for the district managers number and the lady gave me the choice hotels members number. So I called back and told her she gave me the wrong number. Well someone else gets on the phone and says hello. I said yes I’m holding for the district managers number. She proceeded to say they don’t have a district manager but her general manager works Monday - Friday. I questioned again them not having a room and she tells me that they weren’t cleaned and that if she allowed me to go in my room before check in she’d have to let everyone else. Then she told me I could go back right now which was 240 by that time and I said um no I was there 20 min ago and you had nothing clean. I went there to see if we could put stuff in our room bc we will be at the park till 9:00. And she replies well your room will definitely be ready by 9:00. No shit Renee! I know my room will be ready before 900!! The point is your customer service sucks and i will let everyone know not to stay...
Read moreUpdate: 9-11-24 Upon immediate entrance into the room there was a muggy and very humid atmosphere. It made me cough the whole time and made my little one cough too. To the point his dinner came up. About two hours into it, I spoke to a very nice staff worker who brought us a dehumidifier. Although it did not help at all. I had to change my socks three times because they kept getting wet from the carpet and even just from sitting on the bed doing nothing. We checked in around 4:30pm... I took my kids there so we were safe from the hurricane... but we were checked out before 11pm that same night. Last night actually. Asked the owner or manager to call me. I was met with an email this morning only refunding $50 of my total cost. Also when looking on google maps the cost was $84 for our exact room for last night. But my end total was $134. And some change... i haven't checked my statement yet. They did accomidate us to the second floor but I can imagine the entire hotel was the same as my room. The smell and humidity in the room made my stomach hurt the entire time... we left, and we felt we were safer even sitting at home with no power than another minute in that hotel. Never have we ever had a bad experience until last night. And of all the times we've ever stayed at any hotel ever... this was the worst experience yet. Health wise, it was not good. There were also pubs and hair all through out the sheets... the drawers weren't cleaned out from old empty toothpaste things and trash... it was all the way around a horrible experience. With the one and ONLY exception of the kind and understanding staff members. I will never book at this hotel again. I can provide pictures if you'd like...
