I had never been to this place before but because of a stroke of luck and an odd craving, my husband and I decided this was the place to go. We assumed we would get stuck with the dinner rush because we had waited until about 6 on the dot and the parking lot was full. As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated. Hunter was our server. Hunter was amazing! He was polite, personable, knowledgeable, and fast. He kept our drinks full, sometimes without my even noticing, and he checked in often. When he did that, he wouldn't do like many other servers, who will walk by and see that we didn't currently need anything and leave, or the other option, ask if we needed anything and then when we said no just move on to the next patron. Hunter made sure that when he came and checked on us, he actually had something interesting to say. It could be the weather, it could be games, it could be about how the food was. Speaking of food. Hunter knew about anything on the menu and an apt description of its taste. When my husband mentioned wanting a platter but didn't like oysters he was quick to mention possible substitutions. Even aside from Hunter's greatness, the food was excellent as well. I got the Cajon Ravioli, a delicious fried cheese Ravioli covered in a nice crawfish sauce, that I was scrapping my plate over. Our shared appetizer was the Jacked up shrimp. Some shrimp cooked then coated with a pepperjack jalapeño bacon type mix. I didn't taste a lot of shrimp in the cheese but it was a nice little something to start our meal off with. My husband got the seafood platter, with a side of gumbo added. That gumbo was awesome ( I took a few bites)! And he didn't have a single problem with any of his food either. Hunter wasn't the one who delivered our main course, in fact both he and us were surprised at how quickly we got our food; but as soon as he noticed it was at our table he was there asking of we needed any extra condiments and refilling our drinks. All in all, everything was great. To be completely honest, even of the food was just ok, I would still be happy to go again just for the great service. Fortunately, the food was good too, so I'll definitely have to make another visit soon! P.S. Keep Hunter around. Give him...
Read moreThe food wasn't bad but our waitress could use some additional training. I was a part of a large party for a bridal shower with a total of about 15 people in our party. When I arrived, about 10 people were already there & they had ordered drinks. It took her longer than 10 minutes, to come get my drink order for myself & my daughter. When she finally arrived, the first thing I asked for was a booster seat, 2 waters, & a kids fruit punch. She brought my drinks but no booster. I asked for a kids menu, when she came back to get my order, and she forgot to bring it. While ordering, I noticed the kids menu on the back of my menu list & I made a statement about it. When I asked for a kids menu the waitress could've said it was listed under the lunch menu. Overall she did okay but like I said need more training on being more attentive & less forgetful. She never told us her name and found out my another server. I would've given 2 stars but she was nice enough to take pictures of our group so I gave 3 stars instead. Waitress name is Sydni and she didn't tell us about the 18% gratuity that was already included. I know normally it is but, it's been a long time since I've eaten out & eaten with a large group. People forget or may not know so it's a good thing to...
Read moreI had hoped I could share this with corporate, but they don't have a contact number or email for feedback. I was in the Denham Springs restaurant last night. It was not busy so I thought I could be waited on quickly. Went to the bar for service, was able to sit immediately at the bar, but it took 5 minutes for the female bartender to recognize we were there. We did then get our drinks, but after 5 more minutes I had to ask for menus. 10 minutes later had to ask if we could order, then had to ask for refill drinks. Finally had to ask for my bill. Not once did the bartender take the initiative to check on us.
I would normally write it off as someone that has no business in the service industry, but I failed to mention that the manager and possibly another manager were at the end of the bar not more than 6 feet away, oblivious to what was not going on. We did over hear her conversation with a friend couple about her dating a some guy, and how he has a brat of a daughter. I guess she was more concerned about gossiping rather than managing.
So it's no surprise the service was the pits. It's unfortunate the restaurant is only 1 mile from my home. I would frequent the restaurant more often if they had their...
