A Cajun Dream in Denham Springs!
As a couple with a combined 30+ years in the restaurant industry (17 years as a cook for me, and 16 years of stellar serving—and cooking—for my wife), we know our food. And let me tell you, we rarely eat out anymore because, honestly, the industry has lost its sparkle. Quality? Meh. Service? Barely. Passion? A thing of the past. BUT...when we do go out, it takes a lot to impress us.
Enter this hidden gem in Denham Springs! From the moment we rolled into the parking lot, it was clear this wasn’t your average spot. The lot was spotless, and as soon as we stepped inside, we were hit with that unmistakable Cajun vibe. It’s like stepping into the bayou without the mosquitos—a cool, clean, welcoming atmosphere that instantly made us feel like we’d found something special.
And then we met the dream team: Amanda, Ashley, and Alex—a triple-A greeting that blew us away. These ladies are everything you want when you walk into a restaurant: warm, professional, and straight-up knowledgeable. No fluff, no confusion—just genuine people who care.
Now, let’s talk food. For $40, we got two massive bowls (gumbo and etouffee), a shrimp and chicken platter with fries, a side of onion rings, and two drinks. Yes, you read that right—enough food to feed us, leave us stuffed, and STILL have leftovers. And the quality? Perfection.
Gumbo & Etouffee: Flawlessly seasoned, with rice that was neither mushy nor undercooked.
Fries: Crisp, golden, addictive.
Chicken Tenders: Moist, crispy, seasoned to perfection.
Shrimp: I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best shrimp I’ve ever had.
Onion Rings: A crispy, flavorful masterpiece.
Sauces: Chipotle, honey mustard, and ranch so good, they’ve ruined all other sauces for me.
Drinks: Even the Coke was spot on—no flat or overly sweet nonsense here!
And the service? Before we even had time to settle in, our food was brought to the table. The staff treats you like family, not just another ticket. Their passion shines through in every detail, and it’s clear they love what they do.
This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Denham Springs has never seen anything like it. Forget five stars; this spot deserves ten. Do yourself a favor and GO. Your taste buds will thank you, and you’ll leave with a full belly, a happy heart, and a newfound appreciation for what dining...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Off the Hook at 2319 S Range Ave for the past few months, usually for lunch and sometimes for dinner, and I can honestly say this is the best fast food I’ve ever had. Their prices are very competitive, and the food is consistently excellent. I’ve tried their burgers, shrimp po’boys, red beans and rice, gumbo, and even their T-boy toast for dessert, and everything has been fantastic.
What really sets this place apart is the customer service. Whether I go through the drive-through or sit inside, the staff always greets me by name, asks how my day is going, and genuinely makes me feel welcome. Libby and Ava are always so kind and helpful, often recommending the best options for the day, and it really means a lot that they remember me. Manager Amanda also goes above and beyond, checking to make sure my order is perfect and that I’m happy with both the food and service.
Remembering someone’s name might seem like a small detail, but it makes the experience so much more personal. The entire team here truly cares about their customers, and it shows every single visit. Off the Hook has quickly become my go-to lunch spot, and I highly recommend it for both the food and the...
Read moreMy mom went to off the hook in Denham yesterday afternoon she said the young lady who helped her take her order made her Diet Coke for her, brought it to the table for her later through out her stay a young man helped her out and chatted with her. And in the end the same young lady from the beginning who she says was probably busy at the time saw her getting up stopped doing what she was doing and got her a bag for her box then grabbed her drink and walked with her to her car. And waited for my mom to get in her car asked for my moms name and my mom got her name but can’t remember for sure she thinks it was Katie but my mom is an older woman and really loves your restaurant but has a hard time getting out these days she is stubborn and won’t wait for her family to take her. It was great hearing how wonderful these people are, you’ve won us forever. Thank you for taking care of my mom like she...
