We've been Worldmark owners since 2010. We finally made it to this resort, after having to reschedule due to COVID. We've gotten wiser to the "informational meetings" they ask you to attend-- even upping the ante with $150 gift card. Nope. We are happy with our membership just as it is. TIP: unplug your phone when you check in to your room. You won't regret it!||The room is beautiful! Housekeeping did a great job. The carpets were clean. Our kitchen area was spotless. The furniture was in good shape-- very "beachy" decor. Our bed was super comfy. We never used the second twin bedded bedroom, since it was just the two of us. As a surprise bonus, the bathtub/shower is HUGE! It's a jacuzzi as well. That's a first for us, at a Worldmark! ||We really like having a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer and drop-dead gorgeous views from our room. ||Local tips: Shop at Chester's Grocery Store. They are super friendly, and even give WM owners a dozen free eggs. It's 5 minutes down the road. Newport is the closest big city-- about 15 minutes away. It's very scenic, though the bayfront is touristy. There, you will find WalMart and Safeway.||We were here for five nights. The walk along the property is along the water, and really scenic. You can walk to downtown Depoe Bay, very easily, as it's only a mile away.||Eat at Tidal Raves! Gorgeous views and really good food.||We had a hiccup with the front door lock sticking, so we couldn't get out of the room. Maintenance was slow to respond. I had to call 30 minutes later, and finally someone came over. We had no further problems.||When we drive to a Worldmark, we have a "box" we always bring. It includes our Keurig coffee maker, and the k-cups we like. The coffee they provide, now, is Folgers. Not our fave. I also bring my own non-stick skillet for cooking eggs. ||This is a beautiful property and I can see why it's so popular! I doubt we'll return, only because we want to experience as many different properties as possible. Our highlight, and bucket wish list checked, was driving 2 hours north to see Cannon Beach/Haystack Rock. It's so worth the drive. Oh, and the Tillamook Creamery is a perfect stop on...
Read moreThis resort is one of our favorites... we've come 3 times now and love how every unit has a front seat ocean view. If you watch for the spouts of water, you can find Whales right from your own balcony. We once paid for a whale watching tour just to find out they park right in-front of resort. We now just watch them from our balcony. The one thing I hate and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the high pressure sales meetings. They pressure you like crazy to go to the meeting at check-in and purposely drag it out until you agree to a "owners meeting." They claim they'll update you on website changes, booking bottlenecks, etc; but they don't offer any value-- it's 100% a high pressure sales meeting to get you to buy more points. They tried to sell us 5,000 points for $15,000, (when we already have more points than we know what to do with). Expect a used car sales experience IF you agree to the meeting. Yeah, they'll give you a few freebies for going, but hardly worth your time or headache. If there were no high pressure sales office at this location, I'd give it 5 stars. Also, don't give them your cell phone number at check-in-- this is only used to hound you about going to the sales meetings. They're clever and friendly, but also super pushy and aggressive. It's a good way to knock a star off your vacation; which is why I'm knocking one off my review. Otherwise, the property is pretty amazing as far as location goes. It's mostly updated but shows plenty of signs...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful condos located on the ocean. Would give them 5 stars except for the fact that their marketing guy. (You know, the one who tries to strong arm you into attending a presentation?) Because I didn't want to be in the lobby any longer than necessary I agreed to sign up for a presentation and cancel if I decided not to attend. I'm an easy target because when he asked to see my credit card I assumed that it was to get my Wyndham rewards number. Not. I called later that night to cancel and was told I would need to call back when sales opened again at 8:00 a.m. So on a single night getaway I had to set my alarm to call sales. I called at 8:01 and was assured that card would not be charged but there would be a temporary hold of $40. My card had indeed been charged and I needed to enlist the assistance of a higher up customer/owner assistance person to eventually get my refund. So for a one night get away with friends where I couldn't sleep in for fear of being charged to not go to something that I didn't want to attend in the first place and had to spend more than an hour on hold and telling my story to Worldmark personnel to get my $40 back. Never experienced this $40 penalty before and will absolutely never agree to possibly attend another presentation again. Great job, Worldmark! Way to alienate an owner who often spoke highly of the ownership program. But the resort is beautiful and the front desk people...
