This Hotel accommodation was memorable, but not for the reasons that would cause you to want to come back. When deciding on a hotel, we could have easily chose a "cheap" hotel. We decided that we wanted a jacuzzi or hot tub in our room and because we did not plan in advance were unable to go to the hotel we normally stay at. The Travelodge was one of the only places left close to Lincoln City that offered a jacuzzi in room as an amenity. At $199.00 for the night, I much would have preferred to spend money at the local Walmart on bedding and stayed in one of the cabins at the KOA in Lincoln City. When we arrived, the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke. I'm unsure of the layout of this building, but it appeared that it was a home (presumably the owners) living in a building connected to the hotel. nonetheless, it has been smoked in heavily and the smell was overwhelming. In the lobby, we saw a sign that said the spa was out of service due to maintenance. It is understandable that maintenance would need to be completed, although some reference of this for online bookings, or a price adjustment based on an unavailable amenity would have been expected. When we got to our "Ocean View" Room (see pictures below), room 103, there were several immediate concerns. The top concern was the smoke alarm. There was no battery in the smoke alarm and it was chirping indicating it needed service. We called for service and it was taken care of promptly. It ended up being the unit next to the smoke alarm, and after our return from dinner we noticed a new battery never was put in the smoke alarm. The room (the whole hotel for that matter), while clean, was in disrepair and in desperate need of some maintenance. The paint was peeling away at certain parts of the walls/baseboards, the large throw pillow was stained, there was hair (from somebody's head hopefully) in the jacuzzi tub and on the sheets that were changed. My first thought was to check for bed bugs. Thankfully, we did not find any. Another odd, but noticeable annoyance was the removal of the knob from all the thermostats in the hotel (presumably to keep a constant temperature and dissuade guests from changing the temperature of their rooms). luckily I travel with a leatherman and was able to adjust the temperature accordingly. The jacuzzi tub that we paid so much to get as an amenity was comfortable once it was running. The push button to start the jets was hard and not easy to use. I had to apply A LOT of force to it in order to depress the jacuzzi button. Other small annoyances, while not major, were signs indicating what linens (wash towels) to use for what purpose and threatening charges for using the wrong towels (see photos). The pop vending machine was out of service, lights were out/missing from the hallways, and the continental breakfast offered in the morning was more of a get it and make it yourself operation. In fact, we did not even eat the breakfast. I took a bagel out of the bag and took one bite. It was stale so I threw it away. The mini pancake machine was not working and the front desk staff was working with somebody when I went in to the hotel lobby to try and get it to work. The sign (pictured) on the freezer door said to grab your frozen egg slab and gave you directions for microwaving it. Overall, this was not a terrible place to stay, assuming the room was priced appropriately for the type of hotel it was. This was not a room that justified spending $199.00 for the night. The jetted tub was comfortable, but marginal and could have been eliminated from the booking and nothing would have been missed. If you are wanting to stay at a cheap hotel without the "cheap" price and be disappointed in your booking, this is the right place to choose. In retrospect, I don't fault anyone but myself as a consumer because the reviews are terrible. This is probably the last time my wife and I decide to "play it by ear" as far as selecting accommodations.

My daughter and I stayed here for a week, during Spring Break and we had an amazing time during the week with driving and walking to the many different areas/places, then came back to the hotel in the late afternoon/evenings for a very fun and relaxing evening! The staff is amazing and very helpful and when I had questions, they answered them beautifully. The room was comfortable, warm and inviting with great decor, a modern flat screen tv that has great signal (which I have stayed at a hotel in another town over that had box TV’s and poor reception, so the flat screen with clear picture is an upgrade), a decent sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker. One of the things I loved personally is the the shower water was nice and hot (which usually in hotels, you’re lucky if it is more than 100 degrees) and the hot water didn’t run out, meaning you can take as long of a shower as you wanted without worrying about it running out! That was awesome!! (At home, my hot water inly lasts about 20-25 minutes) Also, the room has an awesome fireplace and balcony. Yes, the door is stiff to open but it has to be to hold up to coastal storms and strong winds, so it is totally understandable. What’s hilarious is when I got home and I opened my own glass sliding door and accidentally made it slam because I was used to “putting some muscle into it” lol Thankfully, I didn’t break my door lol Yes, there are trees in the park across the way, as there are trees all over the coast line, and it adds to the beauty to the view from the room. I even saw Bald Eagles and a Turkey Vulture several days in a row, from my room as well as behind the hotel, which was so damn awesome!! The breakfast selection is what you find at many hotels, with the exception that they also have a mini pancake maker (which my daughter called a Pancake Printer lol). I can’t and don’t usually eat breakfast due to medication I have to take in the morning (anything with calcium and iron can keep my medication from working properly), but did cheat a couple of mornings and I had the mini pancakes and they were fantastic! I also had tried the Peach toast and cinnamon swirl toast and they both tasted like eating dessert for breakfast (like a peach cobbler and a cinnamon coffee cake) and those were really yummy! I have stayed at many hotels over the years when on vacation and this one is one of the best and I will definitely be going back!!

Where to start. I realize this is a budget hotel so my expectaions were adjusted for that. Having stayed In Depoe Bay in April across the highway, we saw the Travelodge on the hillside with a commanding view of the cove/ocean. Wife wanted to whale watch so we thought we'd give this a try in spite of the reviews.|First, tried to book online at the hotel website. Three 1-bed queen options at different price points, but with the same desciption for all, no idea what the difference was. Note that the description stated "In room temperature control". Only if it's heat. A ceiling fan is your cooling (no A/C). The west side of the room is all glass so when the sun comes over the building, the room heats up. I expect Jul/Aug can be problematic. Misleading room description.|Called the hotel. Very quickly told they were not taking phone reservations (a first for me in 40+ years).|Booked online, added a comment to the "Special Requests" section that there was no way to choose the 3rd story room so we were requesting one so we could whale watch.|Numerous emails/texts prior to arrival (excited to see you, trip near, etc.). Not one word about our room request.|Arrive at 1PM. Didn't expect to check-in, just wanted to park and walk the town before check-in. Lobby was locked up (another first). Sign said to pick up phone and dial 0. That works better when someone will answer the phone. Talked to a very kind young lady cleaning the room next to the lobby and explained we just wanted to park. She opened the door to the room adjoinging the lobby, asked the question, then told us it was OK. So, it appears someone was there, they just chose not to staff the lobby or answer the phone.|Came back closer to 4PM. Lobby now open. As we checked in, we were given room 104. A far cry from the 3rd floor. Decided not to argue as the previous reviews suggested customer service was not a priority.|Went to room. Overall, not bad. Newer LVP/tile flooring. Furniture looked newer. King bed (comfortable). I booked a queen room and there was no king bed option when I booked. Bathroom was adequate, really needed a deep clean. As expected, there would be no whale watching from the 1st floor. (we did get to see whales from other locations - yea)|Next morning, went to use the shower and the tub faucet diverter was damaged. About 1/3 of the water went to the shower, the rest was a high pressure spray at your feet. Overwhelmed the drain so at the end of your shower, you were standing in 2-3" of water. No guest should walk into a room that has broken equipment. That should all be verified/corrected BEFORE the guest checks in (would not have been a problem if I had the room I tried to book).|Best experience was the check-out... done online so no lobby visit needed.|This could be a much nicer hotel if the owners chose to maintain it better and manage it in a way that focused on customer service.|I will say the best interaction we had was with the young lady cleaning the room. She was kind and helpful. That's how you run a hotel.|Will not step foot in this hotel again. Use...
