Tucked away in the picturesque Depoe Bay, Oregon, Pirate's Coffee Company is a hidden gem that's worth visiting. We embarked on a road trip from Portland, seeking the perfect blend of ocean views and caffeine, and Pirate's Coffee Company exceeded our expectations. As we anchored ourselves outside, the cozy coffee shop beckoned us with its inviting atmosphere. The ample seating area, both indoor and outdoor, provided the perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning ocean views. The interior design, adorned with pirate-themed decor, added a playful touch to our coffee-sipping experience. But what truly stole the show was the coffee itself. Rich, bold, and expertly brewed, each sip was wonderful in flavor. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just looking for a quick pick-me-up, Pirate's Coffee Company has got you covered. The friendly staff were warm and welcoming. And, as a bonus, the shop offers a treasure trove of merchandise, including souvenirs to commemorate your visit. In short, Pirate's Coffee Company is a must-visit destination for any coffee lover visiting Depoe Bay.

Ahoy, matey! That's a lotta bravado ... I mean, "Best of the Best"?! ... But methinks it's appropo for both the genre (Pirates be known for their confidence!) and for the quality of what fills the tankards here. Yes, I am a spicy wench, and I thoroughly enjoyed the beverage, minus the buttered rum syrup because I am plenty sweet enough thankyouverymuch and don't need a lick of that tooth rot. The place smells incredible because the magic beans are roasted right in the cafe. It's also fully laden with clever kitsch ... including the real cannonball on their counter and the gorgeous book art hanging with their bean menu. It's all owned and operated by a couple generations of a local family, and much of the art is supplied by their own baristas. Every bucko is greeted warmly, and there was plenty of laughter and friendly scuttlebutt served up with the caffeinated grog. It proved a perfect spot to rest my pins and relax for a few. Godspeed, me hearties!

My wife and I have lived in Oregon for over 15 years, and Depoe Bay is one of our top-pick locations for viewing wild crashing ocean waves and whale watching. In all these years, for whatever dumb reason, we never stopped at this coffee shop. I should say this is more than a “coffee shop.” It embodies a family spirit, and they have a wide assortment of hand-sewn hats and gloves as well as other cool memorabilia and odd n’ ends. Aside from coffee, they also have scones and other various baked snacks. This place is about as local as they come regarding service and products. Great experience. My wife ordered an extra hot chai latte, and I had a regular coffee. Both of us were very pleased! A must-stop place if you want great service, quality coffee and snack while visiting the coast. If I read the menu correctly, they also offer iced drinks (great for the warmer months!)

Hello,

My name is Scott and my wife Alice and I visited this location (Depoe Bay) during the week of the 4th of July and we experienced some of the rudest customer service "ever"!!! I'm giving our total experience "two" stars and not "one" simply because our white mocha was pretty good, but we'll never return because of that less than stellar customer service experience... I see that this location has received a negative feedback before and it also looks like the owner, or whomever responded to the negative complaint basically accused the feedback as non legitimate, so let me prove that this experience indeed took place, my invoice number was 0015, on 07/10/2015, at 10:20 and 49 seconds in the a.m. and the total was for $7.25 plus tip. I had even asked for our tip back following the horrible experience and were refused, so that's also pretty bad, wouldn't you say??? So now let me get to my complaint. I paid with a debit Visa card and on the back of the card I have "SEE I.D.", the blonde haired woman that was helping me never asked for my I.D., so I showed her the back of the card and then she asked for my I.D., I went the extra mile to explain that we had just been the victims of identity theft and that's why I was even bringing the situation to her attention to begin with, but to our amazement she responded with, "well it looks like what you really need to be doing is practicing how to sign your name", I responded with excuse me, giving her a possible out, but she actually responded with the same quote, but even more angrily, so I asked her to please pull out my receipt and lets compare the two signatures and we had an almost exact match, other than one letter, but if she really did think the signatures didn't match, then why in the heck did she even accept this form of payment to begin with. She continued to talk negatively to us and she would just not let it go, she seemed as though she needed to win, regardless of how it made us (the customers) feel, so I guess in her mind she won. My only recourse and right is to give her this honest review and hope that it will help others from having to experience her lack of happiness. I would never again give this company one cent of our hard earned money and I hope anyone and everyone really takes the time to read this review, so that you can decide for yourself if this is the type of business that you support with your hard earned money, there's lots of places to enjoy a great cup coffee, minus the lip service!!!

Thank...

I was also at the Pirate Coffee Company in Depot Bay Oregon when my husband was treated rudely by the clerk described in Scott G.'s review. As I browsed the gifts available I listened as my husband very politely pointed out that the clerk failed to view his i.d. as his debit card instructed. This must have really offended said clerk and that same offensive attitude shines through in the owners reply online. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Why did said clerk go out of her way to insult Scott and say he needed to work on his signature because it didn't match?? Wouldn't common sense lead one to show a bit of compassion or empathy when a couple is explaining the magnitude of victimization they recently encountered as victims of identity theft? Instead you belittled us during the transaction and now, publicly belittle us again for recalling the events that lead us to take time to tell our story...and your "investigation" or "recollection" indicates you were not tuned in to your customers at all, but just show your determination to be right, consequences be damned. How insulting and rude to call us liars when his write up described what occurred from the moment we walked in the door. I will do my best to stir people away from your shop whenever possible seeing how vindictive and uncaring you were that day, as well as your despicable response to our online review. You and your company have left a terrible taste in my mouth and shame on you for denying what went down that day!!! ...
