Front desk manager literally refused several times to give me information about who I could speak to about my legitimate grievance, telling me that "he doesn't have a boss or manager" and that "he is the ultimate boss" and that he only answers to God. " I am the boss". "My only supervisor is God". Furthermore,he advised me that if I were a man, I would receive different treatment. When I finally was able to speak to his immediate supervisor, she gave me an extra night's stay and sent me to my new room with a business card for the general manager so that I could contact him. When I called the number on the card, I didn't realize that I was speaking to the exact same woman. She then accused me of "harassment" , for calling the number that SHE HERSELF GAVE ME, and even though I only made one single phone call, and therefore she called police and had me escorted off of the property. All this, despite the fact that I had a legitimate complaint, was going through the protocol that she prescribed to me, was not in any way causing any type of scene nor creating any type of problem nor commotion and was resting peacefully for hours in my room napping before police arrived (and she was well off of her shift and out of the building). Terrible unfair and frankly, cruel and inhospitable customer service. Do not come to this hotel expecting any type of professionalism or hospitality.
Additionally, listen to his response. "oh my oh my" is exactly the condescending tone this management has. "I wish I could share.." WHY CANT YOU? Because this "managing partner" (obvious family member of front desk worker who only "answers to God", at least they look and sound exactly the same when I spoke to them.) Maybe this is the "God" that the front desk answers to? He certainly never fails to add "managing partner" to his name. Why can't you? There is no ongoing litigation. Go ahead. You were not there and refused to verify by reviewing any video. You simply stated that your staff had been there for many years and that was "enough" for you to make a determination without further ado. Oh my, oh my indeed. Oh my, what a little kingdom you lead. However, it is NOT the kingdom of Heaven. It is a terrible "roach motel" where you wield your authority without due process because YOU are the ruler. I would love for you to explain the "whole incident" to your readers since you swiftly kicked me out of your office before I could fully explain and since you were not there. I will gladly give my version of events as well. My boyfriend apologized because he is timid and fully intimidated by your staff. He also was not even there (he hadn't been there for hours as he left for work when I was napping peacefully alone for hours) when your staff called police because I dared to call the NUMBER THAT THEY GAVE ME in order to register my complaint. So? Go ahead...explain away. You are a clown with a clown possy of your friends and family on a power trip who lacks respect for women and I base that statement on observations of behavior and speech from you and your staff. You can't explain because you weren't there, you do NOT know what happened, and you refused to investigate. THIS IS A TERRIBLE HOTEL! Please go to the many other affordable options that understand what "Comfort" and hospitality actually are.
PS. That is absolutely not true that police would only kick me out if there were probable cause. When I implored them as to why I was being kicked out since I had caused no problem nor scene, they simply responded that there did not need to be a reason. That it was NOT THEIR DECISION but rather the property owner and within the property owner's right to kick me out, whether fair or not. That is why there is no police report and you are free to "explain the whole incident", Mr. VIra Safai, managing partner. This happens to be a free speech country. Go ahead. Step this way, step that way...I am more than ready to explain. It's not libel...
Read moreI am a long distance commuter to work in the Washington,D.C. region, so I have stayed in several hotels and extended stay motels over the course of the 18years I’ve been working. This Comfort Inn is probably the best hotel for the value that I’ve stayed at over the years. I chose it because it is very close to Shady Grove Metro, within about a mile drive to the parking garage. This is important if you are going in to D.C. for tourism or work because after a tiring day on the streets or in the office, you don’t want a long, traffic-blocked drive back to your hotel. There is a Dunkin’ across the street if you don’t want the hotel breakfast, and several other decent restaurants within walking distance, including a great taco food truck in the 7-11 parking lot next to the hotel. In terms of the hotel itself, it is very clean and well-maintained and the staff are professional and courteous. I check over the room thoroughly before I unpack, in case there are issues. I even go so far as to turn the water on in the shower to see how the tub drains and if the water gets hot. I look in corners for dirt and hair. I look under the mattress for signs of bed bugs. I never found anything of concern. When I arrived, there was a student group in the lobby waiting for check in. Although you might think this is a drawback to a hotel, I actually look at it as a positive sign. Teachers who take students on trips will almost always stay at the same hotel from year to year, if they get a good deal and like the accommodations. In summary, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the D.C. region for tourism or business. The price is good, the accommodations and amenities are excellent, and you will be happy you chose this hotel over some of the cheaper ones...
Read moreI stayed here 2 years ago and again recently. 2 years ago 1 of 2 elevators was out of service and recently, it was STILL out of service!! It doesnt even have an "Out of Order" sign on it. so most people just think it is busy getting other people. They had no idea.
With as many people that stay here in the summer and on weekends, it is RIDICULOUS that it was still not working. waiting for it to stop on nearly every floor to come down or go up, is at least over 5 minutes each way. Which may not sound like much, but if you need to do it multiple times each morning, it is quite annoying because the staff also uses the same elevator to have access to each floor they are servicing. The staff definitely should have their own elevator! . Trying to go up or down during breakfast or check out hours is a total nightmare.
For the price of a room that i paid, around $174.00 a night, the rooms are so outdated as far as bedding, and availability of room coffee goes. You cannot tell if the sheets are even clean because of how wrinkled they are. The top layer of comforter or whatever it is, went right off into the corner on the floor.
Each night we were there, around 9 PM we heard lots of banging of doors and screaming I had to call the front desk to try and get some sleep.
The next time i need a place to stay in this area, i will NOT be staying here. For that much money a night, i will choose another hotel, i will never stay here again unless by some miracle they update it on all of the above. I believe it has been over 15 years since this place...
