Read moreI like this store, but it's not close to where I live, a 20 mile round trip, so usually shop there when I'm in the area for something else. Anyway, was there 2 days ago and purchased a suitcase for $100. Have 45 days to return it to the store. Next morning checked their sales online, and what's listed? "My" suitcase on sale for "57 per cent" discount, cost is $35. Of course I want to return the one I bought or, better, still, talk to a customer service person online or at the store, and arrange to get a return of the difference in price, credited to my credit card. I have all the receipts, transaction numbers, website sale url and info, etc. Would save me a trip, and would save the store the inconvenience of the return, if I actually have to drive to the store. Also, I may not be able to find the sales item in the store if I wait. So........talked or chatted with Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack customer service people (4 conversations), and got the same message from all of them. HAVE to drive to the store, that's the only option. So, am stuck with doing that when I have the time for the process, and there's no guarantee that I'll find the same item available to exchange for at the new sale price, aft45 all that inconvenience. Not rational customer service. Not "smart" customer service. Not actual customer service. Disappointing. The star is for answering the phone promptly, and telling me promptly and in no uncertain terms, exactly what they can't do for me. UPDATE: Drove over to the store yesterday, 5/28/19. Checked the shelves, found a suitcase just like mine, still priced at $100. Found a manager, told him my story, showed him my suitcase, a printout of the online sale price, and the on-shelf suitcase still priced at $100. He immediately agreed to credit my card, so I'd be paying the sales price, and he also gave me the additional Memorial Day "red tag" discount they were offering. So, great price, great in-store service, thanks, much appreciated! Still, it would have been nice if all that could have been transacted by the phone contacts, because all the proofs and paperwork were there, or could have been sent by phone...
Read moreDisappointed. Went in on Thursday because I was in the area and had a few minutes to spare. Found a leather coat that I loved but the price tag was missing. Stood in line for 20 minutes, got to the register to try and buy it with no success. The cashier was very friendly and professional,she called a manager over to try and find the price but after waiting another 20 minutes she was unsuccessful. Eventually I had to leave to meet someone for a meeting. I told the cashier I was going to lunch and would be back after to try and buy it. I came back and there was still no price and I couldn't buy the jacket. The cashier was still quite pleasant and took my name and phone number and said she would reach out once they came up with a price. It's now Saturday and I still haven't received a phone call with a price. It takes that long to come up with a price or at least a phone call as promised? Ridiculous in my opinion. It shouldn't be that hard to make a purchase. There should be a plan in place for situations such as this! UPDATE I went back to the store Saturday afternoon to once again try and purchase the jacket, I got in line and the cashier saw me and motioned for me to come to her register which I appreciated and called for the store manager. I had to wait another 15-20 minutes but she eventually came up with the jacket and I was able to purchase it. After all of the confusion I’m left wondering if the price I paid was correct.
