King Farm Village Center — Local services in Rockville

The village center was a poorly designed shopping area. Approximately 60% of the shops have been vacant for years, not a good indicator for attracting potential tenants. Your literature claims this to be a highly trafficked shopping area; this is less than true as on any given day or time there is virtually zero foot traffic. Other than the Safeway side, the variety of shops are not the kind that will generate walking traffic. The area needs the types of shops where shoppers will walk from a toy store, clothing shop, gift shop, outdoor eatery, etc; the right mix of shops that would create constant foot traffic day in and day out. First of all, when I asked an employee who was changing the price tags on the end caps of the register lanes where the peanut butter was, she said aisle 14 is my guess. Guess. Well it was not an aisle 14 or 13 or 15 and I looked through the entire store twice. Did not find it. I went there for peanut butter but I left without it because the employee that I asked it and want to show me or look for it.

On top of that my cashier Ben S. was not very friendly to me unlike the lady behind me. The monotone voice and pre-canned responses made him sound like a robot instead of an employee. I would love to live near this village center. It is just so complete! I used to go there a couple of times a week for my child's karate lesson at Kicks Karate. I have done carry out pizza from LA Fontina Grill, which is always packed on Friday nights. I dinned at Botanero Restaurant, got wine from a beer and wine store one time, and got those "will need tomorrow" ingredients from Safeway. I had coffee from the Starbucks inside Safeway. There's a place that fixes phones. There's a spa, Kumon, and much more. I must say it took me a while to figure out where the extra parking is. But, there is a...
