Came here last night food was great.. service was terrible. We waited to be seated because there were 3 tables that had not been cleaned. Once seated we waited another 20 mins for our order to be taken. Once our order was placed I wanted to add queso dip. One server told me she would get our waitress and she walked past me 3 or 4 times before she asked me did our waitress come out I told her no. More waiting and our food finally came I asked for black beans and the order I placed was for dos tacos. She brought out refried beans and flower tortillas. On the menu it says it comes with corn tortillas. I asked the waitress because I knew what they brought out was flower tortillas. She tells me they are corn tortillas. She leaves comes back I tell her I asked for black beans and that they gave me the wrong tortillas and proceeded to argue with me saying that they are corn tortillas. She takes it back comes back out with the correct tortillas and tells me I needed to ask for soft tortillas in order to get corn tortillas or else they would be fried. She even pulled the menu back out to prove I was wrong. She was even shocked to see it said corn tortillas. Then she said well the kitchen is different, not really sure what that means. I told her that frying corn tortillas does not magically turn them into corn but I didn’t want to continue arguing I just wasn’t going to tip. We get the bill and 20% gratuity is already added. For bringing out the incorrect order after waiting an hour and arguing with me about it, she received a 20%...
Read moreOk, wished I would have taken a photo of my food. I ordered the grilled pork chops. Took a while to get food, but server kept us stocked with drink and chips, so we didn't complain. Once I recevied my meal, it was burnt. You could smell the burnt when it arrived at the table. I notified the server about the burnt chops, he went to tell the cook. Came back to tell me it wasnt burnt it was just the bone in the meat. I cooked for about 5 years for work back in the day, and still cook every day now for my family. I know burnt food. The meat was so singed that it would break apart when you poked your fork into the meat. All you could taste was ashes and mustard. ( what ever they seasoned the meat with) the manager was notified and also tried to convince me that it wasnt burnt. I explained it tasted like ashes and it was inedible. He offered 10% off the ticket( $1.62) for the meat being burnt. I shook my head and so he offered a beer as well. I didnt finish the meal as it tasted terrible. I got the check and the extra drink was free but no discount on the meal. No offer to recook my food that was obviously burnt. The server asked what he manager said and I let him know he said it wasnt burnt either, he just laughed. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if your looking for quality food, or fast food. Slow to prepare meals and didnt want to correctly fix the problem. Not only was my business lost, but the business of the other 7 people that work for my company. Complete...
Read moreI have driven past La Mexicana for years. I have seen adverts in the Clipper Magazine forever, thinking I need to try it out. Well I finally did with my 20 year old son last week and was not disappointed. We arrived on a Monday early evening, noticed only 3 or 4 other patrons in the bar/restaurant. We took a seat and the bartender came over with menus . I ordered a margarita up no salt, we had nachos appetizer. That was a mistake. The nachos were plentiful and made it difficult to finish dinner. My son had a taco salad which surprised me as he usually gets fajitas. I had one of their combo platters. All delicious. They have a private room next door you can reserve. I spoke with the manager, Ash, who was super nice. Nice to know the room is there, but there are regular events that go on, so availability is something to keep in mind. Needless to say I will be back...
