Amazing location, awesome Hotel. I have been already to quite a few Tru hotels, each location is managed differently according to its owner (some have more perks than others). Overall Tru hotels are targeted towards a particular audience, (simple traveler, no looking for luxury but convenience) This hotels doesn't have as many storage compared with other Hilton hotels, ice maker on each floor, but has the basic things needed for the regular traveler and new generation. We love the amount hooks that this hotel has, the amount of USB chargers, the simplicity overall. Shampoo, hand soap, conditioner and body lotion are supplied via containers on the walls (less waste and old school soaps). Now going back to this particular location. Staff is friendly enough and is able to assist with any question. Coffee and tea available 24/7. Check in was quick and easy. Location has enough complementary parking lot, even for EVs. (Keep in mind this location doesn't have Tesla chargers, just paid CCS chargers @ .30kwh.) The lobby is huge and have enough seats for everyone. Has two tables game and extra family games available. Has washer machine and dryer as well. Has an indoor pool and outdoor pool as well. Ice maker is located in the lobby and has buckets that you can take to get ice. The workout room has enough machines, even a Peloton bike. Elevator only goes up if you have your key card so always keep one on you. Hallways are warm but rooms are cold, trash was filled at night but empty during the day. Bathroom is clean and with everything needed. Room has bunch of hooks, AC unit has kind of metal frame around that can be use to put stuff on it without affecting the AC flow. TV is huge and easy to navigate. Like stated before, USB plugs on every outlet except the bathroom. Breakfast is amazing and tasty, staff is great keeping everything clean and full. Next we are going with Location ++++, it is at walking distance from Walmart, Henderson Park and many restaurants...
Read moreAs a loyal Hilton Honors member, I’ve always enjoyed my stays at Hilton properties and have come to expect a consistent level of cleanliness and comfort. Unfortunately, my recent visit to your Tru Destin location was a significant disappointment.
My family and I frequently visit Destin during the summer, and we were looking forward to another enjoyable weekend. However, upon entering our room, I immediately noticed the condition of the walls , they were visibly dirty, with scuff marks, stuck-on gum, and what appeared to be dried food or possibly something else unhygienic. Even my children commented on how unclean the room felt.
I brought the issue to the front desk and shared photos of the room. The staff was friendly and professional and promptly offered us a new room just two doors down. Unfortunately, the second room had the exact same issue, dirty, neglected walls that had clearly not been addressed in some time.
Upon entering the new room with the team member (to ensure better standards) and realizing that room was in the same conditions, he tried to explain that these rooms are made for families. While I understand some rooms may be designated for families with children, that should never compromise the standard of cleanliness. A simple cleaning with a magic eraser and disinfectant could have made a significant difference.
I used 20,000 Hilton Honors points and paid $740 for this stay. It’s extremely disappointing to feel that those points and that money were spent on subpar accommodations. For the value that was spent, I likely could have rented a condo closer to the beach. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and ensure higher cleaning systems and processes are enforced for higher standards,...
Read moreAs a Diamond Hilton member, I was truly expecting the service that I normally get from Hilton hotels. I took my husband and son to Destin for spring vacation and booked this hotel because of the pools they offer. I’ll begin with the pools were the BEST part of this hotel! My son, husband, and I loved them! We checked in on a Friday. I received a text from the hotel asking if we were enjoying our stay. I replied that we had no wash cloths, hand soap, or body wash in the bathrooms. I received a reply that that would be taken care of. Saturday morning (we still had not had anyone bring us these things) I went to the front desk and let the woman there know. I watched as she texted and let housekeeping know what we needed. I thanked her and went on about my day. Sunday, I received ANOTHER text from the hotel asking if everything was going well. I explained again that we still had none of the necessities we needed in our bathroom! There was an employee in the hall vacuuming, so my husband asked him for some hand soap. The man went and got it, but didn’t offer to install it, as the bottles require a key to be replaced. So, we had to just sit it on the sink and hope it wouldn’t leak. My husband then went BACK to the front desk asking for washcloths and brought them back. Monday, we checked out, and STILL never had anyone bring us body wash for the shower. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty as well. Thankfully I had my own, but my son had to use mine since there was none in the bathroom. This was the WORST experience I’ve had at a Hilton hotel. I stay at Hilton’s for work, which is more than half the month each month. This hotel certainly needs some work to reach the...
