Let me start off by saying that I have stayed at The Inn at Walnut Creek for YEARS and have always LOVED the staff, which more than made up for other areas that were lacking. When I reserved a room for June with my parents, I called to make sure we could get a room on the front side because my mom cannot do stairs or steps. I was assured it would be a room on the front. When we arrived...wow...this is where everything went so wrong. First of all, they had us down for the upstairs suite with over 20 steps. The clerk honestly appeared to be under the influence of something, and was rude. She told me the only other option was a downstairs suite at a higher price. I asked if we could have it for the same rate, since it was not supposed to be a suite in the first place, and that it was definitely not supposed to have stairs. She "called a manager" who inquired if I had stayed there before apparently, because she told her I had (I was actually WEARING one of their tee shirts). When she got off the phone (mind you, I've never felt treated so rudely by a staff member), she said they could "do it for the same price THIS time". By then we decided it was not worth it and went to another place, paying more for a much nicer experience. They have lost a long time customer here,...
Read moreI have been here many times with my wife before she passed away, but this is my first trip by myself. This is a very nice hotel whether or not you are on a budget. It is in walking distance to dining and gift shops, and a short ride to many of the popular destinations down here. Even if you're tired out from all the shopping of gifts or food items, it's even nice to take a ride around here. Most of the country roads are on your navigation or GPSs, so you can never really get lost. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit and explore Holmes county Ohio. There's even a post office across the street if you want to mail gifts to someone. The room is comfortable and has everything you really need. Most rooms have refrigerators and coffee makers, and some also have microwave ovens. You have a table and a couple of chairs if you want to eat in, or maybe play a board game. There is cable TV in each room and free Wi-Fi. I don't watch TV that much myself, but the Wi-Fi is good enough to do work or stream your favorite shows on your phone or...
