People working the counter are nice. Initial customer service people are nice. Product is great when you get what you order. When you travel for a distance and quite a bit of your order is incorrect when you get home you get blamed needing it the day you return from your trip since they can't ship you a replacement and for not checking each piece before you leave. When you say you think that would look bad for their staff and the store and be super time consuming and that maybe they could do a better job of staff doing that, you aren't showing them dignity and respect and that you are the cause of the issue with an incorrect order and not them. They do not follow through on issuing refunds or even acknowledging they received the information they requested as they said they would. They've lost a multi time a year ten year customer over a situation that could have been easily fixed. With the economy as it is most businesses like customers, especially loyal ones, but Jason Coblentz only does as long as you don't expect a situation to be made right or to be treated with the dignity and respect you deserve as a customer when trying to get a situation corrected. Save your time and pick a chocolate company that cares about their customers even if something goes wrong...
Read moreI have a major crush on chocolate, good chocolate! Coblentz rivals my experience and expectations of a Swiss chocolate journey. As you open the door, so many options overwhelm your mind, and all are wonderful, just your health limits your enjoyment.
Packaged options are all over the store, 4oz, 8oz, ,--4 lbs... yes please! Nuts, beans, pretzels, rice crispy treats, you name it, they may have it. Not into covered items, no worries, meltaways are pure chocolate treats, milk and dark chocolates with silky textures that are Mouth watering good.
Did I mention shoes, yes, chocolate high fashion high heel shoes made from pure milk chocolate, you can watch them being formed via a hallway to the left of the main counter! A pair would set you back over $80, which isn't bad, knowing the time and labor involved in their creation.
We bought about 2 lbs of chocolate around $22 per pound. Orange, lemon, raspberry, blueberry, milk and dark chocolates, and don't miss the free samples, yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause!
Store was well lit, ample free parking, friendly staff, and selection was various. Highly recommended for the chocolate...
Read moreMy visit to Coblentz was overwhelming in the best way. I had to take a few laps around the store before I could decide what to buy. There are SO MANY options. The man at the counter was very patient and kind as he explained every flavor and gave suggestions. There were also samples to try that are absolutely delicious. They were pricier than I had expected, but the candy was amazing and worth every penny. There is even a viewing area where you can watch them make the candy.
My only complaint would be that the store filled up quickly, and it was a bit uncomfortable having to shuffle past so many people to go back and forth to look at the options and order. I think they could benefit from a wider walkway in front of the display case.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely go again if I'm ever in the area. I bought wrapped chocolates for teacher appreciation, and the teacher loved it so much that she asked where I purchased from so she could place...
