We have stayed here multiple times, and it has been wonderful until this visit. ||||When I made reservations, I was not told they were still under renovation. Also, we have a key tag that allows one free night after ten nights. The last time we were here, I had them check the tag and they said we had nine nights. This trip (two nights) would have allowed for one night to be free. When she checked, I saw the number 9 on the computer screen. She said we only had 8 and we had to pay for both nights. Afterwards, she asked us what card we wanted to put our stay on. While my husband and I were still discussing what card to put it on, she hurried up and put our stay on the credit card I made the reservation with. We had not completely decided which card but she chose to decide for us. They used to not run the card until you checked out. ||||They used to have an awesome Amish breakfast in a common area. It had a crock pot breakfast casserole with real eggs and chunks of sausage, etc. Sometimes you could have breakfast with the other patrons and meet new people. Now, they have you pick a breakfast off of paper and you are confined to your room. At this point, all COVID restrictions have been lifted. The paper says the eggs, cheese and sausage are locally sourced. The egg on the sandwiches are powdered, so I’m trying to figure out which Amish chickens lay powdered eggs. I’ve had better breakfast sandwiches at McDonald’s. They used to have pastries that were from Walnut Creek, which is a local company. They now have these muffins that do not have the shape or taste as from before…definitely mass-produced and low-quality. Again, I’ve had better at McDonald’s.||||The fireplace in our room didn’t work and the new pillows are very uncomfortable. The new alarm clocks have a big huge blue display that lights up the room. I’m surprised any place like this would have that since multiple studies have shown that blue light contributes to sleeplessness. I have been awake since 2:00am and cannot get back to sleep.||||I understand things change, but had we been told up front about the renovations (we were lied to by omission) and the breakfast, as well as the fact that not all amenities were working, we would have held off and come back at a later time. At this point, I am not sure we will be back, not so much because things have changed, but because we were lied to and our trust has been broken. This is definitely NOT...
Read moreWe had been by the Oak Ridge and actually toured it several years ago. This was our first stay here. The rooms are HUGE. There are only 6 or 7 rooms. All rooms have a patio door to the patio. It’s sooooo quiet. It’s one level. We heard no one our entire stay. We came in on a Sunday night so we checked our selves in. We had the hickory room. Which is a King. The ONLY con with this place is the shower is super small. I would forgo the garden tub and have a big shower but that’s my opinion only. Pie room had a kitchenette and table with two chairs in which we picked up dinner and ate there. There’s two wing backed chairs and a good size tv on the wall. The gas fireplace is nice too. We will return. It’s so much more quiet and private than a...
