Surestay Wyndham Duncan — Hotel in Duncan

I know everyone says this, but I really am not the type to leave a negative review. This visit was extremely inconvenient due to this hotel. I just recently stayed this past weekend and I spoke with the woman at the front desk (I forgot her name) and she said my mom and I could split the bill half and half. This woman was very sweet, nice and helpful; however, she messed up. She called my hotel room about 10pm asking for my payment for the hotel and I was alone in the room with my son; therefore, I was unable to just leave him alone in the room to pay. She was pushy for the payment, stating she needed it before her shift ended. I was just so confused because we had just checked in that day and she was calling me at 10 o'clock while I am trying to put my baby to sleep. We agreed on the phone that she would charge my half of the payment and everything was fine...so I thought. The next day I get a text from my bank saying my account has been overdrawn and I found out that this happened, because the woman at the front desk charged me the FULL amount. As soon as I found this out, I went to the front desk and of course it was a different woman. Her name was Tina I believe, but she was AMAZING. This situation was very stressful and inconvenient, but she was very helpful and explained everything. It was just unfortunate that this situation occurred, because unfortunately I do not think I would ever stay here again. The rooms were decent, but Im upset the woman told me that we could split the payment and she ended up going behind my back and charging the full amount. We all know what happens when your account gets overdrawn, so sure Tina "fixed" the problem; however, now I must suffer with all the overdraft fees and other expenses. Like I said, some staff were nice, some not so much and this hotel isn't like the worst place ever....this situation was very unfortunate and could have gone in a complete...

Wednesday, August 10th, 2022. The night hotel Front desk clerk was one of the most arrogant, unprofessional, employees that I have seen in a business in a long time. Not only did she offend my husband , She asked for my personal home address before she would let us check in. Who does that? Also when it escalated to me speaking to a manager(she literally lied straight to her managers face, I have a witness) the manager told me that they are trying not to rent to local residents because “you don’t always get the best crowd when you do”! Our local residence is a home we just bought and I gave her that ZIP Code, , she refused to check us in because the ZIP Code on my drivers license didn’t match my ZIP code from my debit card. She asked me for my personal home address and wouldn’t let it go. She actually bowed up to me against the front desk as in I thought she was going to jump over. I left crying because I told her I couldn’t stay there because I was scared she would do something to me or my husband our rooms and or our vehicles. Horrific experience. The owner was there and did nothing, but in his defense, I don’t think he knew everything that...

This is an older hotel that has had some upgrades to the rooms via paint, carpet, etc. Upon entering my room I was greeted with a very strong odor that seemed to a mix of chemical and paint. Perhaps a cleaning agent. Every time I entered the room this odor would greet me and therefore I was breathing it in during my stay inside the room. The room was clean from any visible dirt or mold. The air conditioner was in working condition. The bed was clean, firm and somewhat comfortable and was void of bed bugs. The bathroom was clean however, I did kill one roach during my stay. The towel rack that is wall mounted fell off the wall into my hands. The shower was clean and functional. The hair dryer was old and functional and served its purpose. The free Wi-Fi was extremely fast but not secured with a password. Overall the room itself was not as comfortable as most and smaller than most and therefore the rate that was charged was too much. All staff I encountered were professional and accommodating. The building is not secure from non guests entering...
