I hate to have to write this but I have stayed in many hotels of varying luxury. Hilton Embassy Suites I would categorize in the lower luxury. I admit we let our Hilton Honors drop to Gold status as we’ve been staying in other brands lately. Nevertheless, one would expect excellent service and everything on point regardless of your status level. But this location at Perimeter was so disappointing. I booked the hotel for friends and myself. So I felt responsible for how bad it was. I hope to spare others the embarrassment. First the room had no toiletries- as though it was completely forgotten. We were shorted washcloths. Not enough towels. There was an obvious remnant of a previous couple’s encounter on the sofa. It should have been cleaned. The beds are advertised as 2 Queen beds. We booked and paid for 2 Queens. But the beds in the room were Full size. I opened up the sofa bed which was Queen, laid across both it and the room beds to confirm. This to me is false advertising. Do not say Queens when it is Doubles. Thankfully for the 4 of us we were able to use the sofa bed- which the mattress was so horribly thin- and the chaise as other beds. The evening reception was an embarrassment. Literally 3 bowls- crackers, cheese cubes, chicken salad. I am used to Embassy Suites having chafing dishes- hot food and so much more variety. We would have been better off just getting our 2 drinks each and forgoing the snacks. The pool, while indoor, was ice cold. You would expect an indoor pool to be heated. The hot tub didn’t have any hair floating in it which was good but there was sand all in the bottom. We didn’t enjoy the hot tub because the hvac directly above it was so incredibly loud that you couldn’t have a conversation with people in the hut tub - 5 feet across - without speaking at a volume that you would need in a crowded bar on a game night. If that wasn’t bad enough, they had not restocked the pool towels. Two days in a row, only 1-2 towels total in the shelf. We asked for pool towels 3 times - dripping wet at reception. Other guests commented that they didn’t have pool towels when they went either. Reception did call for towels- but said they were being laundered. The towels showed up after we had dried off with the hand towels from the fitness center and had walked out. . There is no excuse for this. Management should have enough supplies to keep towels stocked- in rooms and the pool. While the used towels are washing, there should be clean ones ready to put out. Then the elevators, granted is one under repair. But that meant all 10 floors shared 2 working (but also in need of facelifts) elevators. One guest on the 4th floor squished in with us as she said she already passed up 3 prior elevators going down that were full and didn’t want to wait any longer. The hotel overall is tired and needs a deep cleaning. It smelled fine and was tidy. They were clearly on top of daily housekeeping. But the carpets are dingy. The walls in the areas overlooking the view are banged up. Again this points to management not having higher standards for presentation. Now, what was good about our stay? The atrium is nicely done. There is plenty of seating with various size tables. We were able to have private conversations without feeling overheard. The bar is centrally located, appropriately sized and the bartenders personable. It was very quiet within the rooms. The fact that most rooms are 2 room suites at a reasonable rate is a wonderful feature, especially when entertaining. There’s a door to the bedroom if needed. The buffet breakfast was as expected. Plenty of choices of fruit, yogurt, breads, cereals. Chafing dishes contained breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs (think powdered eggs), sausage, pancakes. Coffee, hot teas and juices. The omelette station was well run. Each omelette is made to order. Salsa also available. They were efficiently cooking/calling out when ready. They did have police security in the parking garage. Unless things improve, I don’t plan to...
Read moreI stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Center on October 7, 2023. I made the reservation on the phone just an hour before my arrival. I reserved what the web-site called “2 ROOM PREMIUM SUITE-1 KING BED-NONSMOKING” and within the room details information it was stated: “This premium suite features a king-sized bed”. I requested a crib for my one-year-old and was told there would be no problem, it would be in the room. I arrived and stood at the front desk for around 90 seconds while the three racist employees were reminiscing. Then a couple of the same color of the front desk employees came in behind me they looked right through me and ask them to come forward. The couple pointed out that I was first in line. One of the women asked “what do you want”. I then went to the room it was clean but there was a queen bed and no crib. I called down several times no body answered. Therefore, I went to the front desk and told them the problem and they stated that it was a king-sized bed many times after I told them it was a queen. She stated that all the beds in the hotel were the same size which are kings. I have enclosed a picture of myself lying on the bed with my 5’ 10” arm span showing I had a 2-3-inch overhang on each side making the width 63” a king size bed is 76”. She stated she would have the crib brought up. The place was very loud and unruly. There was some sort of family reunion. The elevators always had long wait times and where packed. My family and I went to the pool which was the main reason we spent the night at the hotel. The pool was packed with at least 40 to 50 unsupervised children in the small pool, It was not safe at all, I spent all of my time guarding my grandchildren from harm. Several older teenagers were throwing a football all over the place hitting people. The hot tub was packed so much it was hard to see the very brownish red water. Everybody was bragging about how many people were sleeping in their room. No body was governing the madness in the hotel or the pool, it was crazy. We ate at the bar, the bartender was great and the food was incredible, the only problem was the security men stood in front of the TV watching the Georgia game so I couldn’t. I asked them to move, I guess they didn’t hear me. I went back to the room there was no crib so I called, no answer so I went down to the front desk and she stated she ran out. While walking back to our room my wife saw three cribs and lots of bedding on the floor of one room. I made the reservation so my wife my 3-year-old and I could sleep on the KING bed and my One year old could sleep in the crib. I didn’t get a king or crib. The next mourning at breakfast the madness still existed. Plates piled high with 30 or more sausages and heaping plates of eggs and toast were going to the rooms. My wife saw ladies pouring all of the bread, sweet rolls, tea and other items in bags and taking them to the rooms. The poor girls that were working just couldn’t catch up no matter how hard they tried. People were bragging that they didn’t need any form of ticket or id to get the omelets. In short, this hotel is a mess with racist employees which has no supervision, no security doing their jobs, no king size beds in king size bedrooms, no cribs and has pure Chaos happening at all times. I will never visit this hotel again. I will make sure that all my friends and all my future personal and business acquaintances never go to this hotel It’s a horrible....
Read moreThis was my first and last stay at Embassy Suites Perimeter. While checking in was fairly smooth although we had to switch rooms because the first assigned room had an odor and the toilet was wobbly, the stay was overall decent. The interior of the hotel is outdated and the bathroom ceiling is falling through. They cook the exact same thing every day and the food barely has flavor. Not much offer for a “buffet breakfast.” The selection was very limited. I paid $930 for 5 nights and an additional $20/day for parking. The parking garage is shared with no cameras or security. The rooms are hot as hell. They control the temperature so be prepared to feel hot while sleeping. Fast forward to two days before check out. A guy was on night shift and another lady and I walked in together from the garage. She got to the counter before me so she naturally went first. She asked the night shift guy if she could have a late check out at 2pm. He responded, I really shouldn’t but I’m going to put it in anyway. They talked a little more about moving it to 1:30pm, but he ended up keeping it to 2:00pm. Because I heard of this flexibility, I called front desk the night before my check out time and asked the same. Obviously a different, much larger/heavy set guy is on night shift. He said no, he can grant me to 12pm, anything longer will be a $65 charge. And I said okay, how much hours does the $65 give me? He said until 1:30pm. I said okay and hung up. Then I called back because it had click to me that just the night before someone else was granted a longer late checkout time. So I called back not in the most pleasant manner because now I realize they bend the rules for who they want. I ultimately made my way downstairs because he stopped answering the phone. I asked what time the manager would arrive in the morning because now I wanted to express my frustrated with the picking and choosing of their time extension. I’m a Hilton honors member. His excuse was that the person was another member which was BS because she wasted. That he went in to revert my 12 noon check out back to the standard 11am as if that’s supposed to hurt me.
Traveling is an option and so is embassy suites. This is why I prefer Marriott brand. I can opt for late check out and if I extended beyond an additional hour, it’s only $10 per every 30 mins so $20 as oppose to $65 that only gives you until 1:30. Nonetheless, I have a friend that has a sister that works under the VP in Virginia Headquarters. I will be letting HQ in on my experience in Georgia. In fact, now I can’t wait to leave this garbage of a hotel. Hire folks that understand customer service. I’ve stayed at many embassy suites and never have I experienced this level of incompetence and spitefulness. It’s pathetic. I’ll take my...
