The positive great location. Negative the first room, room 435, was horrible. The design is called the European model. What that means is that your sink is in the bedroom. So when you use the restroom you cannot wash your hands until you open the sliding door and come back into the bedroom where the sink is located. The bed was a step up from sleeping on the floor, hard as a rock. Add to that the pillows are as soft as a marshmallow so don't expect any back support to sit up and watch TV. The views from the rooftop bar are wonderful. The drinks are not. I tried a margarita first and it tasted like watered down Kool aid. I then tried cranberry and vodka which was very similar. I had to ask that the glass be reduced from ice that filled 3/4 of the glass. There were two women at the front desk, I'm sorry I don't remember their names who were both very pleasant. The opposite of that was the Assistant Manager Travis. He is totally lacking in the professionalism and basic manners that I have come to expect at Marriott properties. It's because of the interaction with him that I gave 2 stars for Service. If not for the pleasant two women front desk team members I would have given 1 star. When I explained all of the issues that were in room 435 the female front desk person, apologized, and said changing rooms would be no problem and she would leave a note. When I returned I encountered Travis, once again explained the situation, he said no note was left, and he said I could change but for a higher charge. It took several minutes of unnecessary back and forth conversation before he finally agreed to the room change, at no charge. The hotel was not full so why he was being so difficult I have no idea. I apologize for the length of this review but I wanted to be thorough. I'm disappointed that it was so bad because I had been looking forward to this staycation at this property. I think I'll stick with full Marriott's, Renaissance or maybe the Ritz going forward, but no more AC. For the record I was in Europe last year at a Marriott and the sink was in...
Read moreI have never been so disrespected at a hotel establishment in my life. I stay at hotels in this area all the time. Most hotels checkout on Saturday is 12pm. At 10:15am I called to see if I could get a late checkout for 1pm (like I’ve done plenty of times at other hotels in the area). No one answered. I called 3 more times between 10:15 and 10:45 no one answered. At 11:30am when housekeeping knocked on the door that is when I found out that checkout was really 11am. I called the front desk again to see if I could at least have until 12:30 since I didn’t know checkout was at 11 AND I called several times and no one answered. The front desk clerk was absolutely rude to me. I was calmly explaining what happened and immediately she says “Well we are going to charge you for another night”. I calmly explained the situation again and asked if I could get just a few more minutes so I can get dressed. At that point she insisted that I didn’t call earlier and she will charge me if I’m not out by 12. She then hung up the phone on me. I walked to the front desk, I asked for the manager. She said there was not a manager on the property. I asked her why did she hang up on me I was not being rude or nasty. Her response— Ma’am you were yelling at me like you are now. (Mind you I was NOT yelling at her. I literally was talking to her calm so the situation did not escalate). At that point I saw that I could not reason with her so I asked for the manager’s number. I proceeded to tel her that I had never been disrespected like this at a hotel establishment. She was saying some more rude stuff as she handed me the card. I snatched the card from her and walked off. SHE THEN CALLED THE POLICE! I am not making this up. She literally told the police operator, “I need the police because this guest snatched the business card from me”. WHAT THE HECK!!! The police arrived and witnessed a calm guest because I was not irate like she tried to describe me. This is the craziest thing I’ve experienced and I will NEVER give Marriott another dime...
Read moreThe stay was good overall. This is a nice modern hotel. It is very clean and well built. The rooftop bar was a highlight. I just wish it stayed open a little later. I was able to enjoy some time up there, and the ambiance was really nice.||The lobby area is also very clean and inviting, with Starbucks coffee available. I visited the gym but didn’t use it. It definitely looked like a place where you could get a solid workout.||Upon checkout, I had an issue with housekeeping, but the manager is working on resolving it and making it right, so I won’t go into detail. The front desk staff were polite and professional throughout my stay. I felt safe and secure at the hotel and didn’t run into many problems.||The only real issue I had was with the window curtain. The heavier curtain was broken and wouldn’t fully close, so there was a slight gap. Since I was on the sixth floor, I didn’t report it to the front desk. I’m also not a fan of the bathroom’s motion sensor lights. They were very sensitive and kept turning on and off.||I stayed in the Metro King room, which has the sink area separate from the bathroom with the shower and toilet. Personally, I would have preferred it all together, but since I was traveling alone, it wasn’t a big deal. If you're staying with a significant other, it might be more convenient to have everything in one space. The Metro room seems best suited for one person, though two could manage just fine.||There were a few cosmetic issues including scratches on the floor and light spots on the chair. The air conditioner was also a bit loud. Overall I would stay again, but I will probably stay in the regular king versus the...
