We ordered takeout for my mom’s 74th birthday today. The food was great, but the poor service and amount of effort to get it was not worth it. 1) For takeout orders, know that they must be placed online. I use online ordering frequently, but Superica’s has programming bugs to fix. This would be understandable, except customers are forced to use the flawed system for takeout. Example - vegetarian enchiladas can not be added to carts online. 2) When I got home I realized 4 items were missing (including the birthday girl’s entree) so I called to let them know. The assistant manager assured me that things would be “made right” when my brother returned to get the missing items. Instead, when he returned for the missing items, the server told him (nonetheless a few times) “the items weren’t missing, she (me) just didn’t grab the other bag” as if I should have asked the takeout server to hand me the second bag next to them. 3) When I called back to address the poor customer service at re-pick up, the assistant manager proceeded to say that my brother “should have asked to speak to the manager” and “received the replacements and didn’t say anything” regarding the issues with the order (although I already made arrangements by phone). A true customer service oriented, savvy manager would have kept an eye on the counter to know when a customer with order issues arrived so they could address them…instead of placing responsibility on the customer to get things fixed.
The only positive feedback aside from the food being great is that the general manager, Mike, was very professional, apologetic, and caring.
The entire lack of accountability coupled with the poor customer service definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I understand that it’s a newer location, so I recommend more staff training - including servers and managerial staff. Until then, I prefer to visit the locations at Krog Street...
Read moreI am grateful to have snagged a free dinner at Superica Dunwoody, and the quality of food was excellent. Portions were also plentiful. Unfortunately, there was a booking mixup - although I had an email confirmation, they didn’t have my booking on file, but luckily quickly seated me anyway.
We started with the chips and dips, served atop a practical lazy Susan. The chips are very unique because they are a lot lighter and crispier than other restaurants, and the dips are fresh and popping with flavor. The red one is suitably spicy and not “dumbed down” for American palates. The green has a very refreshing avocado taste.
This was followed by queso fundido with chorizo and pico de gallo. It was served with freshly made tortillas. I could definitely taste that everything at this restaurant was fresh and made from scratch. The queso was flavorful and of a delicious consistency.
Our entrees were a picadillo taco with ground beef, which was delicious but slightly lacked something and a chile relleno, served with a deliciously fresh tomato sauce. The chile relleno was one of the best I have ever tasted, and definitely a dish I would order again. Our entrees were also served with plenty of Spanish rice, white rice and black and refried beans.
This place has a rather fun atmosphere, and 50s honky-tonk music was playing on the screens.
I enjoyed Superica very much for the quality of food and the fun and relaxed atmosphere. It brands itself as Tex Mex, but I was pleasantly surprised because I found the food to be lighter, more flavorful and more authentically Mexican than what I have typically sampled in...
Read moreI had been trying to review this place for a couple of months. Each time I arrived it was a 20-40 minute wait. TODAY, I walked in and was greeted by a very pleasant Aisha (NJ native) and quickly seated. I explained to David (waiter) this was my first time. He took his time to explain my items of choice in details. He had a very bubbly personality. Mid-service, Tynisha (another server; not mine) greeted me to inquire; was this my first time? How was my food? Did I need to-go containers? I thought that was very kind and above and beyond service. Lastly, Mike (manager or GM) stopped by to check in and I informed him everything was great and I’d be reviewing the restaurant.
The GOOD part…lol I started off with American yellow con queso with chorizo. It was so freaking delicious and the chorizo was very seasoned. They also have two different types of salsas for the chips; avocado salsa verde (earthy herbal taste) and fire roasted tomato salsa (almost like a smokey taste but very light).
I had the two barbacoa tacos with charro beans and rice. The combo does not include rice. The barbacoa tacos were the BEST I’ve had to date and shamefully I eat a lot of them. They were tender and had this pasquilla oaxaca (a smoky sauce), avocado, and cilantro. The charro beans were very seasoned and not dry. The rice was fluffy and complemented the beans very nicely! I had plenty to take home, minus the tacos. ;) As I was saying goodbye to the greeters, I received a “sweet treat”, praline candy. You also receive a cool Superica postcard. I...
