Camino Real Hotel Eagle Pass — Hotel in Eagle Pass

THis is a rather small hotel on the south side of HWY 277(aka Main St)which is in a zone with road construction under way.Immediately upon entering,the smell of moth balls.ammonia was overwhelming in the lobby.The owner was nice enough.WEw had a second floor room on the east side by the parking lot.The bed was adequate,but the mattress was very squeaky.The bath was adequate,though we didn't shower there.The room was clean,but the mini-fridge gasket fell off when I opened the door,so it was useless.The TV was a bit difficult to operate with 2 remotes.One for power and channel and the other for volume,if I recall correctly.||This hotel cost almost as much as the La Quinta down the street on the opposite corner,but offered no food.It could be a bit better,but there is a lot of competition in Eagle Pass.We have never been to Piedras Negras,but have read that there are nice hotels there.The question there would be safety.||At any rate,we have stayed at multiple hotels in this town and the La Quinta,for the price,seems better.There are newer,more upscale hotels just north of town for a higher cost.Additionally,we like air conditioners with constant fan selections.This unit did not have one,so we couldn't mask noises or sleep as well as we might have.If you go,stay upstairs and...

This hotel has been one of the worst I have stayed in, especially the reception if you are traveling with more then one person it forces the costumer to get two bedrooms other hotels give the option they will only do it if you are more than 4 people o and also they can suddenly change the price like they can agree with one price and suddenly change it to another , the employees will not only be rude but try to ask a lot of questions that normally other hotels will not do, The rooms are bad fill with holes , the beds will make your whole body itchy and specially the pillows and blankets, the jeep will not stop beeping For the whole night,

I have been in bad hotels that are messy or the reception is rude to the customers or that try to charge you twice but I have never seen a hotel this bad that one can barely relax from a long travel time this hotel call Camino real hotel by far takes the cake for the worst hotel I...

First of all, for the price paid, yes this was a good hotel. Plus whoever said "Stay on the second floor, " gave excellent advice. The folks who run this live on the first floor and they have their home there so they talk and they cook, and it can be smelly. I'm not trying to be mean, but you should just know that. The room was very, very clean as everyone has said, and it smelled much better actually. The TV was okay but it took a long time to work out the volume with the on and off again AC. When it went off, the volume was too loud. When the AC came back on, well... you get my drift. Sleeping, therefore, was difficult. Otherwise, sure stay here. It could be worse ... La Quinta or an overpriced...
