This review is based on my most recent experience. It is highly unlikey that someone has never eaten here as it is a household name to many of us. However, many locations may vary in the atmosphere and service.
The food itself is excellent. I like the buttery crust, the extra cheese, and that nice crispiness on the pepperoni. It is exactly how I love it. Everything that Pizza Hut offers: from the pizza to the wings and even the pasta are very satisfying, and the portions are very generous. It may seem a little greasy to some, but the pan pizza is honestly one of the best pizzas I've had from any pizza restaurant. In my most recent dining experience here at this location, we ordered two large pizzas, parmesan wings, and garlic cheese sticks. To drink, we had a combination of sweet tea, soft drinks, and lemonade. It's all pretty standard drinks as they also offer beer. However, when I chose Pizza Hut to eat, I was more worried about the pizza than the drinks themselves. The wings were nice and crispy, and the pizza was just so delightful. I would highly recommend coming back again. Even though this isn't the cheapest option when it comes to getting pizza, it is by far one of the best tasting pizzas here in Eagle pass.
When it came to the service, the pizza came out very quickly, and the servers that were attending our table were very courteous and were very patient at explaining the menu. I noticed that they memorized absolutely everything that we asked for without writing anything down, which I thought was very impressive. So kudos to the management team for training them to be very efficient in their job. There are some workers here who I've seen from years ago that still work here. This just comes to show that there are many people who are content being here, and it really shows with their customer service. So thank you, Pizza Hut, for a pleasant experience for my wife and my mother.
When it comes to the atmosphere, it is also very welcoming. For those veterans who've been to Pizza Hut since it's beginning, you will notice that there is no more buffet during lunch hour. Instead, you will be greeted with the lamps that you would recognize in its older setting. Long gone are the days of the mechanical jukebox and have been replaced with big screen TVs and updated high stools. One of the things that haven't changed is the Mini arcade section at the end of the restaurant. So you can say it's a perfect mix of nostalgia and modern era technology. Despite this, there is plenty of parking, plenty of cozy space, and the bathrooms are...
Read moreWent to the new location on Bibb and had the worst service I've ever had at any restaurant. The staff there seem to be high school age kids who truly don't care about their jobs. Our server rarely checked on us... I ordered a pizza with their white sauce (which I repeated to her a few times), boyfriend ordered pasta and wings... she brings the wings first, then 10 minutes later brings the pasta then 20 minutes later brings my pizza (only after I reminded her) the sauce on my pizza was the classic tomato sauce instead of what I ordered. I'm not one to complain and send things back but the service was so poor and I did not like the tomato sauce. After complaining to the manager he tries to bring me Alfredo sauce in a cup and finally gives us a refill on our drinks. The waitress doesn't come back to apologize and the manager gives us the pizza free because the kitchen was closed. Then the waitress finally comes to apologize and stands over my boyfriend while he signs the check (I guess to pressure him into tipping her well). Maybe she would have gotten a tip had she came and apologized to us in the first place, but going without drinks the whole time and getting my order wrong and then not owning her mistake infuriated me. Rather than worrying about her tables, she was at a table with her coworkers laughing and playing around. Love the new location, but get some...
Read moreThose of us that were lucky to have Pizza Hut growing up in the 80s and 90s know that it was great tasting. They had buffet with salad bar and they had an arcade and claw crane with stuffed animals. I chose this location for one of my birthday celebrations during my teens. I even remember that they gave a free personal pan pizza when I was in elementary/grade school if you got honor roll. Good Times.
The Pizza Hut that some of us remember isn't what it is now. The arcade no longer exists, the seating has been replaced with cheaper looking tables that certainly give it a pizza parlor type look, but no longer resembles what it was. It had a nicer ambiance before.
The pizza itself no longer tastes like it used to. The ingredients appear to be of lesser quality. Thankfully the building itself still has the old look and hopefully they keep it instead of updating it to that new modern/sterile look that other fast food places continue to adopt.
The service is a little slow, but usually attentive. It is till one of the pricier food chain pizza places.
It's still one of the better choices for a town that has no...
