Nights Stayed: 6 nights (10/1 - 10/7) Room: 315 Reason for stay: My semi truck broke down and the company I work for set up repairs at the Freightliner Service shop a couple blocks away.
Room: I gave the room a four star rating because it was very clean, it was very comfortable, it had a refrigerator, a coffee maker, a nice TV, and even a nice lounge chair to sit in; but there was no microwave in it. There is a microwave in the breakfast area for all guests to use; but I believe that every room should have a microwave. Walmart sells a basic microwave for $100 or less.
Service: I gave service five stars because all of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The only comment I have for maybe something to work on is when the clerk goes and does their rounds to check on the place, the front desk becomes vacant leading to sometimes guests having to wait almost 15 to 30 minutes to either check in or get assistance. I am not marking that down from the star rating because in my time of traveling for work, I have stayed in over 500 hotel rooms, and this seems to be an unfortunate consequence of hotels only having one person on duty at night.
Location: I gave the hotel four stars for location because it is not the best location for somebody who has no vehicle to drive around. There is an amazing Mexican restaurant kitty corner from the hotel. For truck drivers who need their trucks repaired, there is the Freightliner service shop within a 10 minute walk; also, the hotel offers a discount if you are getting your truck repaired at that shop. However, I will say all of the main food delivery apps, such as DoorDash, Instacart and Walmart, do deliver to the hotel; thru those apps, there are ample enough restaurants and stores to satisfy anyone’s needs.
I would recommend this hotel for not only short stays, but also...
Read moreThe room was disappointingly not as clean as I would have expected from Comfort Inn. There was a spot on the toilet seat that I had to clean off, and there was debris on the floor that should have been picked up by a vacuum cleaner. Additionally, the toilet was not operating as it should. After flushing, the water would not fill in the tank unless I held the flapper down. This was annoying. Separate and apart from the room, I am becoming increasingly annoyed with the check in process at several of your hotels. I am a Diamond Member, and my credit information is on file, and has been since I joined Choice Privileges reward program quite a few years ago. It seems ludicrous to me to have to place a damage deposit on my room at the time of sign-in. Even though My credit card is part of my member profile, the clerk informs me that I have to run my card in order to pay for the room and the security deposit. When I inform him that my card is on file, he indicates to me that that file card can only be used for reserving a room, but I have to physically run my card to pay for it. This is absolutely asinine. Rather than argue, I always do it, but it makes absolutely no sense to me. Additionally, what benefit is it to me to be a Choice Privileges member, a Diamond Member no less, if I have to go through the same sign in procedure as someone with no membership whatsoever. And I can assure you that this does not happen most of the time. I would say 90 percent of the time, all I do is sign in and provide some identification and I'm off to my room. But there's that ten percent of hotels that have their own private procedure that I have to abide by, particularly the...
Read moreIt was the cheapest we could find that had 1 room to fit 6 people. It's not bad for the price but definitely nothing special. The room was fairly clean, but they didn't have enough towels in the room for 6 people. The complimentary breakfast isn't great. They had grains like bread, bagels, english muffins, donuts, muffins, etc. as well as cereal, yogurt, and a waffle maker. The hot food was only small egg and cheese omelets, sausage patties, and hashbrowns. The hot food was fairly good, though the sausage was too salty. The waffles were bad though, we couldn't even eat them... Breakfast also ends at 10am, which is a tad early, in my opinion. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. They tidied the room while we were gone, which I don't like. The sign in the room says they do this every 3 days to conserve, but we had only been here 1 night. There was also nothing to hang on the door saying we didn't want service. They took all the used towels and didn't leave enough clean ones for 6 people, again. There is an exercise room but no pool. The hotel is right off the highway so it's a little noisy. There was also a bright light right outside the window which made sleeping somewhat difficult. The nail in the coffin, however, was the call at 7:30am on checkout day (checkout is at 11am) saying they tried to charge our card (which they told us they wouldn't do until checkout) and it didn't work. I asked if we could deal with this at checkout since it was 7:30 in the morning and was told sure, and that her boss made her call... I will be finding a nicer hotel that has the sense not to wake up the entire suite for a checkout...
