Martin Park — Attraction in East Hartford

We spent a lot of time there earlier this fall..E.H MM football and cheerleading...Home games are at the Hornets Nest/Martin Park. I was pleased to see how cared for that our towns parks have become, clean safe BEAUTIFUL PLAY GROUND toddler accessable.. I just wish that after games and practices,that kids mostly & some adults pick up thier trash there cans every where...Town of E.Hartfords land scapers can only do so much they work hard so our children have a safe,clean, maintained place for them to play, practice and learn... We can do our jobs as parents andhelp them by picking up after our selves ,our children...

What can I say? A very old park that it looks like it's frozen in the 1980's. No upgrades, nothing attractive, old broken spotlights on the poles, and the playground for the kids are so old that don't make sense. The picnic areas are extremely old as well. The only good thing here is the trail walk. And even that be careful because the bridge has not been remodeled and a lot of the platform on the bridge is broken so it can be dangerous walking through it. I used to come here when little and pretty much nothing has changed. Good for the nostalgia, the basketball court...

Park has potential to be a beautiful place for families to gather. Unfortunately during our visit I had to keep a very watchful eye because of all the various items and trash strewn about the playground. It doesn’t take much to pick up and throw your stuff away, come on people. I’m literally looking at four trash cans right now. Are all your arms broken? This is why we can’t have nice things. PICK...
