If I could give this negative stars, I would! We went to a convention in Edison and figured we would give this place a try. The first night we were there, our room ended up having bugs. The new room was fine and everything was okay, but here is the thing. I have never EVER been the person that DOES NOT leave out the do not disturb sign. From the moment we got there, I put the sign up, I just don't like the maid service coming in when I'm not there, so I made sure it was up. The morning of our convention, we grabbed our backpacks (and left one single personal item on the bed and a few drinks in the room) when we left the room, the housekeeping was outside the room and saw us leave. We triple checked that the do not disturb sign was up. Then we come back the sign was gone and so was the item. I go to the front desk to ask for the item back and they brought the man in charge of house keeping in. The man told me at first "No, they didn't go in your room." Then, the second thing he told me was "Well you were only staying here one night and not three days, so we cleaned the room." Then the third thing they told me was "There was no do not disturb sign on the door and when they cleaned there was nothing in the room." Which was a complete lie. At this point, they had the man in charge of the housekeeping in there along with the man who apparently cleaned the room in there and they were both SCREAMING at the top of their lungs at me about the situation. I was not at all being rude or cussing or screaming, so it was very upsetting. The man at the front desk asked if they could check their service carts for it and they both refused to do it. The man at the front desk told me to come back in the morning to talk to the manager, so I did. The manager brought out a log that wasn't there yesterday and told me that the "Do not disturb" sign was definitely not up. The cleaning crew and the man at the front desk on the second day both continued to call me a liar and then changed their story again to "Well, they find golden rings all the time so why would they take your personal item" -- it was priceless to me. They also told me that it was likely "my mistake" -- like when you have a phone and set it somewhere and forget where you put it. I drove in a car. The item was on the top left corner of the bed when I left and then it was gone. It was by far the hotel that took it and likely threw it out because they assumed the room was empty. Then they told me that it was hotel policy to believe their cleaning crew over their customers. Which again at this point, the man that cleaned the room was AGAIN screaming at the top of his lungs about the situation. I told the man at the front desk that it was making me severely uncomfortable and I didn't understand the reason for it. I wasn't trying to get them in trouble, I just wanted to find the item that was missing. The problem came in here is that the hotel didn't want to admit that they made a mistake in entering a room that had a do not disturb sign up on the door. So they pointed all fingers at me and called me the liar. They told me that there was no sign up on the door and it was likely that it flew away with the wind. To which I said, yeah, that'd be a great excuse if the sign wasn't on the table when we got back. So they promised that they would give the general manager an e-mail with my phone number and have him call me. Told me that he would be in on the day that I was leaving. When I checked out, of course...no general manager and no call was ever made for two days. I contacted corporate because I should have never been screamed at and I should not have been called a liar. To which I was called a liar plenty of times and everyone blamed me when it was in fact the hotel that was in they wrong. Then the general manager finally gets back to me and says "Yeah, the log says there was no do not disturb sign, nothing was found upon checkout (which was Monday and the problem occurred on Saturday and nothing was resolved, again placing the...
Read moreAs of 10/16/24 this hotel still has the cockroaches they keep claiming to treat for. Still a parking lot full used needles. Tracy is rude. Customer service line is no help. Only stay here if you ALREADY have a bug infestation!!!!!! The manager still has not called back. Thankfully my bank refunded my money!
I want to start by saying that Google is doing you a favor by giving you at least 1 star with a review, because you deserve 0.
I have stayed here several times, but today (8/30/24) was the last stay. I will start with the rooms before I go into just how rude and unprofessional Tracy and younger guy who were in the front when I arrived. The first room…. By the time I got all of my stuff to the room and unpacked it and got in the shower, I found 3 roaches. Called the front desk to let Tracy know and he said it was too late to get a refund, I had 15 minutes to meet the roaches and decide if we get along or not. He switched to me another room, and when I tried to enter the room, I interrupted a young lady and her gentleman company after Tracy double booked that room. Then Tracy put me in the 3rd and final room, as soon as I opened the door, there were roaches on the fridge and table top. I went to the front office to end my stay and Tracy was out checking to see if the second room was actually occupied, so I waited in the front lobby for him, while waiting there was an unattended child roaming around the front and no adults anywhere. While Tracy was walking back to the office and complaining out loud about me wanting different rooms, so loud that my husband heard him. Tracy never went over any cancellation policy with me regarding cockroaches in the rooms, when I ended my stay and checked out, I never received anything stating I was leaving, I was told their policy is a manager has to approve a refund if I leave early. I can’t get a refund so now I have to end my vacation the day I arrive due to lack of cleaning and preventative measures. When I first arrived to check in, Tracy and a younger guy were in a conversation, I waited until Tracy asked me how he could help me, when I said I was checking in, Tracy and the guy went back to talking for a couple of minutes. While Tracy was making copies he was getting very impatient with the other guy and started mumbling under his breath while telling me to "sign here". I had asked if there were any ground floor rooms available, Tracy told me no, there were none available, I said none at all? Tracy said “I said no”, after the 2nd room having people in it, Tracy checked a lady into a room on the ground floor while I was waiting to get a different room, so I asked him again about a room on the ground floor, he was very rude about telling me it was a non smoking room and that I was booked for a smoking room. I just wanted a room not occupied by bugs or people. Then after leaving the 3rd room, 6 half naked females in the parking lot yelling at other guests including myself for parking by their room, and a random child running around the property and nobody watching it. From April 2024 to August 2024 this location has become a sad place to be. Please don’t bring your children to this dwelling. I have to wait until Saturday Morning (8/31/24) to talk to a manager? That sounds fishy.
Update: as of 9/11/24 I still have not heard from the manager or anyone from...
Read moreThis was the worse experience at a Hotel I have ever experienced, I was not going to write a review but since I am not able to gain communication from Corporate thus far. I am about to blow people’s minds. This is fact not fiction. My family had a unexpected stay at this place, We do not live in NJ. Were in RI. and needed to travel to NYC for Family business and had our pet with us as well as our child. We needed to go to the cemetery in NJ so we decided to stay here. We arrived at 1am (tired as heck) in the am when we woke and got up , upon taking covers off myself my husband seen dried blood on our sheets when calling the office was told CAN NOT LEAVE THE OFFICE BRING THEM DOWN HERE( Really? he did just what I thought he would) say they were not the Hotels sheet we brought them. Yeah all the way from RI . Didn’t even have a change of clothes but we brought sheets for a cheap scam). Then when my daughter wakes up yep you guessed it blood all over her's too (not pools mind you) but enough to freak anyone out. Here's the kicker! There were steaks of blood going from out room into the next they said it was paint. Well... guess what this idiot at the desk calls the police... and the officer confirm OLD BLOOD both on the sheets and the floor. I have sent two requests to be contacted via Guest Relations. This was not my first RED ROOF STAY (as I we both have professional jobs) But a RED ROOF IN RI OR MASS would never pull this. This idiot thought refunding me would stop me from proceeding forward with my complaint and tell me in front of the officer to delete all pic's ( yeah the officer told me do what you like but he asked me to tell you that, But if I was you I wouldn't) so I didn't!!!!! Also stated consistent arrests of hookers, pimps and drug activity on the regular. I have yet to hear from Corporate but I am not going to give up. Nor let this go. Customer Service one bad experience can damage a business and one person that has had a bad customer service experience and spread like wild fire. However I do want to say only the lady that runs the front desk ( was the sweetest thing) She should find a Grand Hotel to gain employment or have her teach the day shift what professionalism is!!!! Let's see if they respond...
