Booked this hotel online because it had a bistro and bar, of course upon arrive it was closed. W).e travel and we always like to stay where we can get a meal and cocktail and retire to our room for a nice quite sleep. Not here. The young lady at the desk was very nice. She thank me for being a rewards member and said the bar/bistro was closed (This was on a Friday Night). Only place to eat to walk to was McDonald's and a chicken place. We checked in and went to are room. The room was clean and comfortable. Walked back down to lobby to get a beer then back to the room. While in the room we started smelling marijuana, then the room next door began to play loud music and talking over the music on his phone to his "bro" and some other choice words. Got dress and was going to the desk to ask for another room when the noise stopped and they left. Everything was good until about 1:30 am when someone came to visit the next room with loud knocking on the door and doors slamming. Never rested well the rest of the night. Checked out the next morning (we were ready to leave) and the desk clerk never asked how our stay was (guess they might of known). Will not stay here again. Looks great but was...
Read moreThis Fairfield in is located north of the downtown area away from many of the other hotels that are southeast of town. This area is lacking in good dining options so we made sure to eat downtown (which was dead on a Sunday evening).||Once again while checking-in I asked about a Gold member upgraded room. The clerk gave a lame excuse about people still having to check in later and did not even look. You could tell she did not want to bother. As I guessed the place was practically empty. In the early morning there were less than 20 cars in the parking lot. I complained to the front desk in the morning and they apologized since I am pretty sure I was right about availability of bigger rooms for an upgrade.||Anyway the hotel is newer and the room and bath were in good shape though the sound traveled through the walls quite easily. This was the third Fairfield Inn stay on this trip with all of them being newer and this one was the first where the walls seemed thin. Also another Marriott property where there were no easy to access outlets bedside!||The breakfast was typical for a FI and the nightly rate was reasonable but they need to do some coaching of their...
Read moreStayed one night. The room had pretty strong smell like sweaty clothes. The following morning after a shower I realized it was the towels. They stunk bad. I should have said something to the staff but it was too late to do anything about it and no one was at the desk when I left. I stayed in another Marriot property in Bossier City, La the next night. Much cleaner/fresher there but when I got home the next day I noticed I had several hundred bed bug bites. I don't know which property I got them from. I called they customer care number and after a little over 40 minutes on hold an associate said he could send a complaint form to the property if I would like for him to. What??? I got eaten alive by bed bugs at one of the Marriot properties and the response is they can send a form "If I would like." It is possible that I transported them from El Dorado to the Bossier City property but the customer care group did not seem too concerned. No telling how many other Marriot customers have had an unsatisfactory experience by now. Long time loyal Marriot/Bonvoy...
