I came in at 8:55PM (they close at 9:30PM)and was only going to order one, simple, roll to eat with the intention on sitting down to eat it after a long day. It was only going to be one simple roll therefore it would have been quick to make and even quicker for me to eat it. However, the minute I walked in I was told they close at 9:30PM twice, and when I was being walked to my seat the host told one of the servers she had a table and she looked extremely irritated by this. This was confirmed when I was sat. The server immediately told me they closed at 9:30PM, again twice. The Server then immediately asked what I wanted before she had even asked me what I wanted to drink and even before I had a chance to open the menu she just put in front of me. I've worked in the food service industry before, at a Japanese Hibachi restaurant among the many I've worked, and it was blatantly obvious that both staff workers were very inconvenieced by this. Their dialouge, mannerisms, and reaction to me being there were very unwelcoming to say the least. Trust me, I get it; about thirty minutes from closing may damper the spirits of the workers who have been working all day, but I would have ate and been out well before 9:30PM. I opted to just order my meal to go instead as I felt very unwelcome, and even despised for coming in. This was unprofessional, rude by both employees, and an overall an extremely negative experience. I informed the lady at the register of this and she, essentially, shrugged it off in a downplay. This is just my experience and as with all...
Read moreUpdate: Because this is the only place in town where the food doesn’t make her sick, they tried again. The experience was good. There was no embarrassing scene and they were treated well. Upgrading the review. Original post: The food is usually good, but a little on the expensive side. The service is also average to better than average. However, if you are unfortunate enough to get a bad dish, complaining gets a dramatic scene from the manager and little to no solution. My daughter-in-law got a charred instead of seared piece of fish on a roll. The device must have malfunctioned because there was a chemical taste to the fish. When she complained to the waitress and the waitress went to make it right, the manager made a loud scene and embarrassed both the waitress and my dil. They tried to “fix” it by piling more fish “ends” on top of the roll. The manager seemed to think dil tried a roll but didn’t like it and wanted a refund. But, no, dil orders this roll every trip. She knows how it should taste. Don’t know if she’ll ever feel like going back there. It used to be a favorite because she’s having food sensitivity issues, but never got sick there. You can have the best food in town, but if you treat the customers like that manager treated her, the customer...
Read moreWe started with the salmon sushi. It was very good and tender but a very thin slice.. No fishy taste at all. Served with pickled ginger and wasabi. I had the chicken teriyaki bento box. It came with chicken teriyaki mixed with veggies, fried rice, 6 california rolls, 1 spring roll, miso soup and 1 pot sticker. It was $10.99. I was not pleased with the spring roll. It lacked flavor and was mostly roll. The chicken teriyaki was not my favorite either. The chicken did not have much flavor at all. The teriyaki sauce was almost clear and not tasty but not bad either. I enjoyed the rice and cslifornia rolls. We both enjoyed the miso soup. My husband ordered the chicken hibachi but got a plate that looked and tasted just like my chicken teriyaki. His came with fried rice and miso soup or salad. He also enjoyed the rice but thought the chicken was only mediocre. Our favorite was the salmon sushi. Service was pleasant and she was patient as we took a while to look over the menu. No fortune cookie...
