The place was being renovated and I believe that our room was a newly renovated unit. It was very clean and comfortable. We like to use stairs. It was clear that the stair well and the first floor were not yet renovated as there was a smell and you can see the wear on the carpet. The pool was closed for maintenance and the fitness room smelled awful. I was looking forward to squeezing in a workout but that didn’t happen. I needed to leave by 5 am, which I planned would be a simple check out. Unfortunately, my digital key and check out capabilities were down because the hotel internet was down at that time. When I stopped at the lobby to check out, there was no one there. I called in hopes that a representative would hear it and come out. It took 10 minutes before someone came out. It turns out the representative was alone and was preparing the breakfast herself. I found it odd and unsafe for her to be alone at such an early hour with the lobby doors available for anyone to enter. However she was very helpful and apologetic about not having been there when I first arrived. The four stars for service is NOT AT ALL directed to the employee that morning. It is for not having enough staff and for putting staff at risk. I was delayed in arriving at my next destination but I do not put the blame on the employee.
In conclusion, I would stay here again, especially being that there are more beautiful renovations ahead. However I would suggest planning ahead knowing the pool and fitness room may be unavailable and in the event that their internet goes down and you’re unable to use the digital key and check out...
Read moreI do my hotel reviews based on how they compare to similar hotels. Obviously no Hampton Inn is a 5-star hotel, but based on my experience here I would say that this is one of the best Hamptons I've stayed in. The room was nice, and they have a constant fan, which I love (helps with sleeping). The bed and pillows were just okay. Normally Hamptons have the best pillows, and of the 4 I was able to find one that was of the high quality that I expect, so I was satisfied. I like the walk-in shower too. Two other priorities for me in every hotel are the fitness center and breakfast. Both here are great. The fitness center is large, with the best equipment. As for breakfast, it had everything that I expect. I'm not a fan of the burrito (I would prefer that all Hampton hotels just serve the standard western omelet that they have), but they also had peeled hard-boiled eggs as a good secondary option. They had blueberry waffles, which are a treat not available in all hotels, and they had the sugar-free syrup that all of these hotels are supposed to stock, but I've found many recently that didn't have it. Lastly, the staff here were all extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay here, and I look forward to...
Read moreHotel is positioned next to a Walmart and Highway. The noise is loud, I had a hard time sleeping in my room. I had bugs by my bed and figured its Oklahoma. The rooms are tired and old, in its day it was a good hotel. I moved to the newer hotel nearby. The staff is friendly but the GM is poorly trained. I had to repeat my room number three times and my names three times still she could not bring up my room. I was shocked she was the GM. Hampton Inn today are run by franchisees and their controls are bad. My lights at my desk did not work. I was only here for two days but would not stay again. I moved to the new Holiday Inn Express. The HI Express is clean, new and staff are properly trained. The Hampton gm finally was embarrassed and would not let me stay another night. The incompetence of General Manager is glaring. Holiday Inn Express is brand new and almost across the street, quiet off the highway.
The GM is the problem and has emotional issues, does not have a clue on how to check someone in...YIKES! Bugs in rooms, see other reviews. HI Express is an option nearby , I moved there and was very happy with their...
