Sutton Inn — Hotel in Elkton

I really enjoyed my stay at The Sutton Inn in Elkton, MD. I discovered the inn by chance and am very happy to have found this place. I couldn't be happier with the clean, comfortable, modern, and quiet room. I have paid hundreds of dollars more per night for a lesser room in one of the big chains. The owner of the Sutton Inn, Chuck, was very helpful and welcoming. By the way, the TV in the room was great too. If you ever need to stay in Elkton, Maryland, I highly recommend you stay at this inn.||I am a history buff and I love the fact that The Sutton Inn has been a family business since 1953 when Jerry Sutton and his wife Gladys Warren Sutton opened the business. I stayed at "Sutton Inn" June of 2020. I happened to come across the Business while looking for places to stay in the area. If I could give this place no stars I would. The place is run by a husband and wife team who are greedy, money hungry, and down right rude. The owners wife jacked up the price just to squeeze an extra fifty dollars out of me; for a room that was dirty and smelled like smoke. I woke up with bites all over me, which I am assuming is a nice "bed bug" problem. The wife named "Cindy" had the nerve to come in my room unannounced, and even told my company to leave! After talking to my co-worker who just left Sutton Inn, I am appalled. She was treated like trash for no reason, and she is the sweetest girl ever. This is a family run inn and they treat you like family 24/7. I highly recommend this inn especially if you are a woman traveling alone. I have stayed here numerous times over the past 10+ years due to a family member with special needs living in downtown Elkton. I stayed there for a month at the family members end of life. They not only provided me a safe place to stay but provided emotional support and kindness during that time. You would never find such caring people and individual attention in a hotel chain environment
