MINUS:
-Staff not wearing mask (time of Covid-19) at check in.
-Very loud, and it was close to impossible to sleep. Yes, we also tried using our own air plugs. Even if we were the first ones to check in, we were given the room closest to Hwy 50 (located about 7 yards away). We thought there was a reason for it (like that the place was fully booked), but we later found out we were wrong. At 8pm the night of checking in we could have booked several rooms at this motel online, so they were not sold out. Also, at 10pm there were only 6 other cars parked outside the motel. As of what we could see the motel had 30 rooms total, 15 on the first floor. It's hard to believe that the owners of this place would give their customers the loudest rooms available, when there was several other rooms not located 7 yards from Hwy 50 available.
-Wifi had very weak signals and was not strong enough for even checking small emails.
-Motel located southeastern part of town, so not the most central place. The western part is the oldest and cutest part of town.
-We tried to communicate with the staff about the issues at 8pm, but they did not show any interest in solving the issues, even if they could have. We told them to call the manager/owner and to knock on our door if they were willing to make the situation better for us, but nobody ever knocked on our door. This shows really bad integrity and customer service.
PLUS:
-Was able to check in at 1pm
OTHER:
-Breakfast: We don't know how it was because after a sleepless night, we decided to leave the place at 5:30am instead of trying to get sleep.
-After 3 weeks the hotel came with a response to this review. There was no signs of them trying to make up for our experience. We were not even 10% satisfied with our stay at this place. This makes me rely that the owners really don't care about their customers and that you should avoid this place. Review lowered to 1 star, instead of 2 stars.

Read moreI was most impressed with how well kept the yard was—the lawn and flowers. The whole place was pretty clean, mostly, and the room got the job done: I had a place to sleep for the night.
My main issue was the constant noise of the cars on the road all night long. A LOT of semis use that road and I heard every single one, even with earplugs in. I don't know if the sound is less pronounced elsewhere, because I was in the end bedroom closest to the road, but it was definitely not a peaceful place to relax due to the noise. I could also hear basically everyone on the stairs and whenever the person above/next to me turned on their shower. I guess the walls must be super thin.
Also, the room smelled so strongly of cleaning solution that it made my eyes itch.
I like that it's not a huge chain hotel, seems like locally owned.
Pros: Comfy bed Pretty clean, mostly Nice people at the front desk Nice quick info sheet in the room Pillows were fine Nice art / photos on walls Lovely landscaping There was hot water in the morning Fridge in room
Cons: Super loud traffic all night long Overwhelming smell of cleaning solution Pillow had a dirty cover I don't normally include bugs as cons because you can't really control them, but I had a spider visitor and a moth visitor during the night, plus there was a dead moth kind of stuck to the baseboard in the bathroom, and another in the window track in the bathroom No carpet! Just tile There was a hose on the walkway in front of my room that I had to avoid tripping on The hot water at breakfast came out really really slowly
Overall not bad. Just fine if you need a place to crash...
Read moreVisited Ely, Nevada on the tail end of our 2023 fall vacation. Many of the Ely hotels we looked at were already booked up online, so we started calling places. This motel had vacancy and we took it. We stayed for 2 nights. The front desk clerk was friendly and was training someone new and she was very patient and kind to the trainee. The motel was a basic, very clean, quiet older style motel, which met our needs just fine. The room was really big and had 2 queen beds with nightstand, an entertainment armoire with a decent size TV, a small table and chair, and a small bathroom with a separate vanity area and sink outside the bathroom. The room also had a small fridge but I can't recall if it had a microwave. The bed was comfortable. The only things I think could use some improvement were the heating/ac unit which was really loud and we could only get very hot or very cold air to come out, but nothing in between, and the bathroom could use some updating. This motel was in a very convenient location, close enough to the other places we wanted to go see in Ely. In addition, we always like to support independent motels whenever we can, so this place was perfect for what we needed. I would definitely recommend that anyone who finds themselves in Ely stay at the...
