We travel from Callifornia to Montana. Having two homes. We have done this for 20 years. This trip is first time traveling this way. We ususally go 80 through Tahoe, however road are bad and have been closed off n on. We stayed in Ely at La Quuinta. Ok motel lol. Not much to choose from. At any rate asked them a good pizza place, they referred us to a Shell gas station.. Once arriving I had to laugh. Their wonderful pizza, as the girl said was a disgusting place. They take frozen pizza that you get at a store add toppings then cook it. Actualy it looked like a warming oven, or possible microwave. After a bad review on Hometime Pizza we were hesitate to go. But being a chief and owner of a business in California, no way was I going to eat at the gas station. I would of not eaten. At any rate the Pizza and calazone we ate was wonderful at Hometime pizza . The staff was so nice. The place itself could use some work , but watching them prepare they washed their hands and did great preparing. However the gas station was a joke, one girl was eating over food counter and lady working said we had a 45 minute wait. Oh my, no one was in front of us. It was very disgusting place. I would never recomment the frozen pizza place at the local Shell station, what a laugh. However my pizza was fabulous at Home time Pizza. Anyone traveling through Ely , Nevada...
Read moreWe were on a long road trip when we arrived at our hotel accommodations which were not going to work out. After struggling to get our money back and find another hotel we decided to find something to eat. Finding very little options to eat other than restaurants inside smoky casinos we came across this place. Now mind you this place needs a bit of an update so we were a little scared but more tired and hungry. I went to the door to see if they were open and the guy inside said yes. I spoke with them about how late, options for eating in or have it delivered to our hotel, etc. The pizza was not bad, the caesar salad was enough for us both to share but the main reason for my review was the kindness and patience of the three guys working that night. Kody, Kendall and sadly I forgot the third guys name, who was so understanding and kind. My review is about the workers who don't get enough credit for serving all us tired and hungry travelers. So a big "THANK YOU" to all...
Read moreI called to place a carryout order and was quoted a time of 30-35 minutes on a Wednesday night. After picking up a different meal for a family member, I got here about 20 minutes after placing my order. There was a couple sitting at a table, but no one else in the restaurant. It's a good thing I was early...the breadsticks were already done and the pizza was just coming out of the oven. The food was just okay. The pizza wasn't remarkable, but it was edible. However, the breadsticks that others had raved about...I didn't get anything like that. These were really overcooked. I kind of peeked in the box when I picked up my order, but didn't see how dark they were until I got back to the hotel. Would I eat here again if I was traveling through the area? Maybe, but it's not likely. My small cheese pizza and breadsticks was roughly $20. For unremarkable food, there are other options that are...
