La Fiesta — Restaurant in Ely

I came in hungry from long travel. This is not like California Mexican food. Fortunately the staff were generally knowledgeable about allergens. Unfortunately, they cook a lot of items with gluten and dairy (ex: adding wheat flour into oil, same prep space, dairy in guac, etc.). My options were limited, but fortunately the server made good recommendations. Unfortunately the plate came out with cheese on top (oops). Fortunately they remade the items without fuss and apologized for the oversight. The server even microwaved my corn tortillas (I had asked for them cold rather than risk cross contamination being heated on the same surface as the wheat ones, so that was very nice!). Overall it was a good amount of food for the price and what I could eat was tasty. Everyone around us was enjoying their items. 5 stars for customer service - they could very easily have made me feel like an inconvenient pest, but they didn't. Overall would be 5 stars if they had a little more flexibility with allergy accommodations (would like to eat more dishes there!), but it's better to be safe than sorry and I had no ill after effects....

This place had good reviews so we tried it. Places are limited in Ely. We started with chicken nachos. They come out in a heap not individual nachos. Overall, they were OK. They lacked seasoning of any kind. This was a pretty large plate too - so it is plenty enough to share amongst 3-4 people. I had the Super Burrito and my friend had the chicken enchiladas. For my Super Burrito, it just lacked any kind of flavor. The meat, the beans - all were soooo bland. The rice was good - not a lot of tomato sauce so it was more blond in color. The burrito didn't have much sauce on it which might have helped it. My friend's enchiladas were good but again, the beans were not flavored at all. Almost as if they were watered down and lost seasoning somehow. The chips and salsa were decent. Overall, the service was friendly and attentative and everyone who came in seemed to be known by the servers there! We wouldn't go back just because the lack of flavor didn't seem to be 1-off situation, it may just be how they...

The first time I tried this place, it was nice and the food was decent. A few days ago was the second time and I will never go back again! Waitress was down right rude. We.were sat down and about 20 minutes later someone in my party made a statement and my reply to my party was that we would need a waiter or waitress first. The waitress then came by and in a rude voice stated she would be with us shortly. Another 15 minutes she came back. We ordered our drinks but not our food. After she returned with our drinks I stated that we wanted to order. Again, rude and stated she would be back. She finally made it and took our order. I requested to the helpful young man that I would like another margarita. Apparently when he told our waitress she got upset and came to tell me that she would get it when she had time. WOW! She wasn't busy at all. Our bill was delivered when she threw it on the table. The total was 98.02, I left and paid with 100.00 and told the cashier to give the rest to the rude waitress....
